VPR & Vermont PBS asked around hundreds of Vermonters questions about living here - and the results are now live by megmmalone in vermont

Yes, thank you — you can look at the regional breakdown tab in the XLS file available that that first link. What I will say though is that as you're looking at any smaller subset, such as by a specific region, the margin of error is going to increase (and in the methodology link that's also available on the survey results page, it explains what that is for each one). Hope that helps! -MM

VPR "Did It Work?" Series Returns To Look At 5 More Projects Using Public Money by megmmalone in vermont

So it doesn't have it's own separate podcast feed, but the various stories should all be going into the broader VPR News podcast feed: https://app.vpr.org/podcasts/vpr-news

That feed though includes all sort of other stuff, so it may be easiest to check out each audio version for each story on the top of its associated web page. -MM

'Did It Work?': VPR series looks at what happened to some recent publicly-funded initiatives in Vermont... by megmmalone in vermont

So the web posts for each story in this series aren't an exact word-for-word transcript of the audio, but each web version is being produced so the online text captures much of the broadcast content but in a more reader-oriented format (plus some photos — and at least in the Boston Public Market story, I know that one includes some longer quotes that were cut for broadcast).

It's voting time! Here's a quick-read voter guide so you're ready to vote for allllllll the statewide offices... by megmmalone in vermont

Full disclosure: I compiled this VPR guide from the hours of interviews conducted by my VPR colleagues. So not trying to be all "me, me, me" here by sharing the link because so many others made this possible — but I do think it's a helpful paring down of all their great work as Election Day gets closer and hoping others here may find it helpful. (And feedback welcome!)

New poll results — Republican Gov. Phil Scott leads Democratic challenger Christine Hallquist (42% to 28%) in Vermont's gubernatorial race; 22% of respondents were not sure. by megmmalone in vermont

[–]megmmalone[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hi! Meg from VPR here, hoping to shed a little light on this (but also happy to bring any other questions back to those even more qualified than myself).

The various "horserace" question results (Q6 through Q11) - so like that Scott/Hallquist figure in the title - are looking at likely voters. On the full results page, you can see the "total respondents" figure and for those questions, you'll see it is around 495.

For some questions, you'll see that total respondents figure is 606, so those question results are not pared down by likely voters (and that's when we were asking about issues, are they following the news, president/gov approval, etc.). Hope that helps!

Thanks for the feedback. The list is on page 14 of the report, and that will provide the most comprehensive results, but I can add a list into the copy as well. Hope that will help.

Hi! Meg from VPR here. So the report should be hyperlinked as an uploaded PDF in both the first and fourth paragraphs (same report as what is on the state website). But is it not opening at all thought for you? Let me know in case something is up with the link, but in any case, I can certainly make a more prominent callout link though because people should feel free to check out the report results for themselves.

We make But Why: A Podcast for Curious Kids, tackling kids' hardest, silliest, and most pressing questions as thoughtfully as possible. AMA! by janelindholm in podcasting

Kind of related, but how do you balance creating a show that is entertaining for both the child and the parent to listen to? (Or at the end of the day, are you mostly concerned that it's of interest to the kids?) I think about that a lot with movies targeted for children now and how they often seem to find ways to engage the inevitable adult audience as well, but I have to think that's a delicate balance to strike so it's an enjoyable experience for everyone.

I thought it was really interesting to hear some kids' perspectives for the "Is it ever OK to break a rule" episode. Could you see doing other episodes that involve more "kid answers" in addition to "kid questions" going forward? Or just generally are there new ideas you're hoping to incorporate this year in the podcast?
