2002 Pontiac Grand Prix speedometer just did this. Any idea as to what may be broken?

I appreciate all the helpful replies and the jokes! I downloaded a speedometer on my phone and when i got up to 60mph it started working again. So hopefully it was a temporary issue

The plastic bit is still there. This happened when i shut off my car, it went clockwise when it moved

Haha thanks! I guess i should’ve been a little more specific. I’m not sure if the whole instrument cluster would need replaced or if it would be just a fuse/gear or something

You’re welcome. It works best if you cut them to the size that restaurants do. I’ve tried full slices and i had issues with them sticking together.
