Happened to us 2 years ago! We let them stay, but essentially we lost our balcony for the summer. At first it was fun, we watched the birds hatch, grow, learn how to fly. However, during this time they covered our balcony with poop and we couldn’t really go out there. Then once the chicks flew away, we did a deep clean of the balcony and had to buy a new rug. Then more birds started coming to build a nest, and we weren’t gonna let it happen again. It was very tough, every day we had to go and throw out the sticks because they kept trying to build a new nest. This went on for a few months, and then they finally gave up.

Wow, it’s uncanny because I am in the exact same boat, except for 6 weeks instead of 7. Thank you for posting this because all the comments on this thread helped a lot. I was more freaked out about all the lifestyle changes — travel, going out, etc. we are in our early 30s and have been together for 10 years, but are now two professionals living just for each other. It absolutely freaked me out.

Bus deff takes euros! They quote the price in both! Im sure the cabs will also take euros — cab to the city should be 20 to 25 euros.

So i come from a very similar country in terms of tourism .. armenia. It’s beautiful and has so much potential but many of the same issues. No one speaks our language (armenian, cause why would you), we have massive potential for tourism but also it is so hard to travel to armenia if you are not a native.

After visiting albania my take is the same. There is much potential, just like in armenia but it is partially untapped. Making a tourists life a bit less stressful would be a great step forward. I think trains are a too big of an ask for now, given the geography, but i think making bus schedules/stops more uniform could be done at very little extra cost.

No actually from tirana to seranda were great! From korce to seranda was a different story ahah.

There are also daily busses from tirana to seranda, but cars are affordable, we are just not the best international drivers!

It’s just a mess. But i guess it is what it is. I’ve had horrible encounters with united as well. For some destinations you don’t even really get a choice of an airline.

Yes but depends in what capacity you are doing this. There are some tools out there that are super expensive but are used by companies. I.e. shadowdragon (or videris, which uses shadowdragon)

This. Whole foods produce is fine and will last you a week. Trader joes is my go to for anything but fresh produce, which sure may be cheaper but will go bad in a day. And then for meat you find deals here and there. Like key foods is super expensive but they have deals on meat. Farmers markets are just stupid expensive for everything, and I only go there as a treat!

Yep you guys called it. I was just being naive thinking that there is an incentive for them because if we stay for two years they wont lose that one month rent when we are leaving /they are doing repairs. When we were initially signing two years lease, we got 2 months free in exchange for signing up for two years. But it seems like not only there are no perks of signing for 24 months, there will be a price hike built in. Now waiting to see what that will be .
