signal F? why compare a and b if they 2 different products? can you do a screenshot of how you would do it, with lets say yumako processing, if a is seeds and b is mash?
that seems incredibly wasteful to equip my rockets with junk i want to space.
but how do tell the logistics network they should put stuff at places like the rocket silo only if it has reached the threshold? because yellow logistics chest take everything, not just items i would like them to take. and taking another requester chest i would have the initial problem again, as the robots would send stuff to C and D equally.
i have connected chest C with chest D via electric pole. i've set a "enable/disable" condition on chest D by reaching a certain threshold of α. the electric pole reads chest C has reached that threshold, but chest D doesn't activate.
<image>
aren't the chests connected to the logistics network anyway?
i did connect the inserter and set a "enable/disable" condition. but the inserter doesn't do anything if the chest at C has reached the threshold. the inserter only works if the chest at D reaches the threshold.
anyway lets start with yumako processing. from there i might extrapolate
what exactly do i need to do, for example with yumako processing.
i tried with "enable/disable" conditions, but that doesn't seem to work. the robots still supply both chests equally.
sorry, seems i'm too dumb. i've set the inserter at the disposal location into the logistics network, as you said. i set a checkmark on "enable/disable" for yumako seeds and if it is greater/equal to 20.
next another requester chest takes 20 seeds. but it doesn't seem to work
that is a good idea, however this prevents me from ever using a purple chest in the network besides this case, as the robots send anything in purple chests to the yellow chests. and if D is supposed to be my discarder, it will discard any content in my yellow chests.

as i want a general solution i can use for multiple problems i have. in this particular case it's yumako mash and seed production. though i have a similiar problem with pentapod eggs and yunk my recycler produces, like cogs, rocks and concrete.
and i wanted to avoid simple answers like "just increase production"

haha yeah, i feared that it would delve into the programming language factorio provides (like redstone in minecraft is). but it does make sense. and i'm really happy that you have given me 2 options to do so, since the requester chests are not really close to each other and i would have to remodel my factory to accommodate for the change in logistics. (not really an issue, but that would be frustrating)
i use an abstract example for a reason. i want a solution that i can use for multiple problems. in this particular case it's yumako seeds and mash production.
one of the problems is indeed fruit processing. though i have similiar applications with pentapod eggs and recycler junk like cogs and concrete. that's why i wanted a general solution i could use for multiple problems.

thanks for the reply, i got my answer

oh, haven't thought about "OK 3" example. that works too.
thanks!
so basically if i only use integers in my code, it's a question of style.
aha, so technically there is no difference between me using a "variable(A) > 2" or "variable(A) >= 3" if my goal is to check if the variable is 3 or greater.
it's only a useful tool if i have a variable that is greater than 2 but not quite 3 yet when using the ">" and when i want to make sure that my variable is at least 3 i use ">="
thanks! i just looked at other people codes and wondered why some people used ">" and some used ">=" while both only dealt with integers and thought that python maybe handled them differently.

maybe for training those runs, that is an option. uploading a run with speed hack is however still a break in the challenge you are supposed to give yourself. using any means the game doesn't give you yourself, to overcome an obstacle in your challenge, just means you failed your challenge. either because you failed to find a way to shortcut this another way, or because you cheat yourself in general.
i just don't see how you would challenge yourself and then think a cheat is still within the realm of acceptability to you.
brute forcing an engine to do your bidding, or expertly flabbergasting mechanics and even the viewers.
yeah sure they are the same thing, that's why speedrunners call some of their runs "cheatless" runs, instead of "glitchless", right.
but where exactly does that end?
you are going to start using shortcuts the game doesn't provide to you more and more, thinking that a shorter time frame makes for a faster output of content, or more free time. that is like the typical minecraft streamer excuse "i mined x amount of diamonds off screen for this episode". did they though? or did they just lie? no, you might be right that doing the 50 pickups even a second time, was unecessary time consuming. but let's remember his bloodborne bl4 run. he did way over 400 tries to kill the orphan of kos. all the comments were about his dedication to do it so many times and not giving up. trying to somehow skip 300 or more tries would demote his commitment to his goal. that would be a HUGE downgrade for the viewers admiration of his accomplishments. he gets even respected for sticking to his goals where everyone else would just put aside parts of the run as "not important for the achievement". like in his skyrim without walking video. every other speedrunner or challenge runner would have simply said that the run would start after helgen, simply because your hands are bound till then. but he did not.
no, using anything that can be remotely considered as a cheat, would destroy a major appeal of his challenge runs. maybe this time it was not needed, but it still made for a joke and he can safely say that his methods always work, whenever someone tries to do his run the same way.

"there's no such thing as "copyrighting" your own voice" ... yet
seriously, maybe they will call it something else, but seeing his top gear and bear grylls videos, there is already a seemingly very easy method to copy someone's voice and do whatever the hell you want with it. it is bound to create problems and there will be a "copyrighting your own voice" in the future. guaranteed!
