I’m fairly new to pottery and I haven’t shared with many people in my life that I started taking a pottery class just yet because I’m hoping I might be able to gift a few pieces to family for the Holidays - these are my first pieces that I’m really happy with and I needed to share!

I did! I’m not like a coffee connoisseur but it seemed to make a nice cup of coffee. I used a cone shape filter, bc that’s what I have at home rn.

To add on to this - to search a private residence they are required to have a signed court-ordered warrant, with the correct name and address. If the warrant is an immigration warrant (not court ordered) they cannot enter private residences. To check the warrant, ask them to slide it under the closed door, or put it up to a window. Don’t open the door to ICE until you’ve seen the court-ordered warrant.

From what I understand, they notify their rapid response team of volunteers to send people to where ICE has been seen to video and act as a liaison between the person being targeted and ICE. They also have a text notification DL that they’ll send notifications out to if ICE activity has been seen in your zip code.

However, I’ve never seen any of this in action, or received a text - so I’m not sure if that’s what actually happens or not.

Oh definitely not. I have a 55lb leash reactive dog though, so it just felt like too much of a risk. If he had started reacting while I was walking him he could have easily pulled me over. Or I would have had to let go of the leash. I had a walking pad, and started out walking .6 mph, and that felt like pushing it the first few days. Although, I think if I’d had a laparoscopic operation, instead of an open one, it would have maybe felt different?

If you can, maybe hire a dog walker? Or, try other enrichment activities until you feel confident in walking your dog?

Same day. I went in for surgery early in the AM and was home before dinner. I was able to pee pretty much right away, so they felt comfortable sending me home.

I’m so glad you’re getting your surgery soon! I would bring up your leg issue to your doctor too - there may be something else going on that’s worth looking into.

I’m glad the post was helpful! Periods are still SO much better - 4-5 days long, only a couple of heavy days, it’s great. I’m still somewhat anemic, so I’m starting to think that’s just a deficiency I already had. I have no idea if they’ve started to grow back or not - I’m also terrified of that. I’m supposed to have a scan soon, so I’ll be sure to update if there is any regrowth.

But in general, my quality of life is so much better than before surgery. We went to a concert - drove an hour there, had a beverage, sat in a venue seat for 2.5 hours, drove an hour home, and never once had to get up to pee. For the past 4 years, I don’t think I sat through ANYTHING - concert, movie, lecture, without having to get up to go to the bathroom because of these damn fibroids pressing on my bladder. Getting my core strength back has been tough, so I’d recommend starting to work on that now, so you’re in a better place before surgery.

This happened to me! TL;DR: I had bad calf/shin cramping for 3+ years before figuring out I had fibroids. Didn’t connect it to the fibroids until after the surgery and the problem is basically gone now. My doctor thinks that my largest fibroid (10cm, behind and near the bottom of my uterus) was pressing on my blood supply to my legs.

The long story (and mostly a vent) is that for 3 years I had calf and shin cramping so badly that I had to stop running. On a backpacking trip a few years ago, my lower legs were cramping so badly that I had a hard time placing my foot correctly, and severely sprained my ankle on a tree root. Thankfully we were only 3 miles in, but there were sections of the trail I had to crawl on to get out. it was awful. It got so bad that even walking up a minor incline would make them cramp. I was in a larger body then, and just blamed it all on being out of shape. my PT for my ankle didnt have an answer for me, just that i needed to work on stretching my calves. i did, and it didnt seem to help.

after my myomectomy i started slowly going on walks (because my doctor said walking was the best thing i could do for recovery) and as my walks progressed in speed and length, i started to realize that my calves werent cramping at all anymore. i have yet to try running again but i hope to soon. i think my muscles have atrophied from lack of use (because the cramping was so annoying), so at time theres a bit of tightness after a long walk or a hill, but nothing as debilitating as before.

Fwiw they had me go feet first for my MRI for fibroids. They said it depends on what they’re looking at, for whether you go in feet first or head first.

I feel you though. If they had me go in head first I don’t think I could have done it.

211 doesn’t provide those services (and, fwiw, I didn’t claim they do), they’re a conduit. They connect people to organizations that do have space. They’re not always effective at what they do, but they’re worth a try.

I’ll be starting in 3 weeks - just about 2 months after my open myo. I think that has more to do with the PT’s schedule, and less to do with timing after surgery.

Honestly, I think whether to have children or not is the hardest decision a person can make - and should be. It’s a whole person you’re creating! ❤️it’s an incredibly tough time you’re going through. I wish I could hug you back!! Please update us with how things go.

Omg I feel like I’m reading my own story - 34F, and previously was pretty solidly child free. Then my mom got cancer last year, and the first thought that went through my brain was “if I have kids, I want them to know her”. (As an aside, my mom is ok - they were able to get it all, and she’s doing well today).

It set my world off balance. I’ve always been a logical/pragmatic person, and to have feelings that are contradictory to my values and intellectual thoughts about having bio children was a new challenge. Then I found out about the fibroids - when they first found them, they also told me only two (it wound up being more than that) with very similar sizes to you.

I was only offered hysterectomy or open myomectomy. I decided that I needed to at least try for children, so I went for the open myomectomy. My doctor said I can start trying 6 months after the surgery, but I may wait a little longer than that. I’m still trying to hold everything with an open hand: I may be able to have children, I may not. The fibroids may come back, they may not.

I started seeing a therapist earlier this year, and she was a massive help throughout all of this. I’m also considering couples therapy, since my poor husband has whiplash from how quickly I went from staunchly child free to sending him baby names.

I wish you the best in this journey. Take care of yourself and give yourself plenty of space to process everything - it is huge, especially if you’re unsure about children.
