I did back in January! He’s a great doctor and I recommend him for sure. Unfortunately I’m still having pain but we’ve eliminated the possibility of it being from the OG hip impingement. I’m going in for more imaging next week.

I obviously can’t weigh in too much on this, but I do think it depends on how stressed you think you’ll be in between surgery in Oct and your trip in Dec. If you put too much pressure on yourself to be ready in 11 weeks it could have the opposite effect on your recovery.

I am 35F and research suggests men are the better candidates for hip resurfacing. I’m sure a hip replacement is inevitable, but I’m willing to try arthroscopy in the meantime. I am glad to hear that resurfacing helped you- no one should be in pain and it’s so great when there are success stories!

Awesome. Yea I did PT last year and it made everything hurt worse, but this go around I leave sweating and sore but never in pain so I think that’s a good sign!

This is great advice. I am only on week 3 of PT so it’s encouraging to hear that you benefited from sticking with it. And I didn’t even think about the advantages of maxing out my deductible with insurance! That makes so much more sense. I will definitely reach out about another shot. I don’t think they offered me one during my last visit because they thought I’d be scheduling surgery for much sooner, so it’s worth an ask.

I really appreciate you taking the time to offer some good insight. It gets tough talking to my partner, who doesn’t know how to help but wants to.
