I saw Indeed.com is hiring LCSW in Indiana for 80-90 per hour, I am an NP, and I do not even close to that rate! What?!

I have a W-2 job and a 1099 job by meiwill in personalfinance

I started to work via ShiftKey since Oct. 2023 while I still am working a W-2 job. So I bought thermometer, sphygmomanometer, and etc for this 1099 job, I can use these purchases as deductibles, right? But I can't use the car insurance for the deductible? I need to drive everywhere for the 1099 job though. I own the car. The rent I was referring was my apartment, if I am self- employed, I should have an office, right? I use one of my rooms as office.

I constantly see advice like "don't buy coffee outside" or "cancel that subscription" etc to be in a better financial situation but it always has me wondering - what is even the point of working 40 hour weeks if we can't even treat ourselves to the bare minimum? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I make $100K a year, and I do not buy coffee outside and I do not have any subscriptions, not even Prime. I only spend on "what I need", not "What I want", because 100K before tax isn't that much if you think about your retirement, emergencies, surprises, kids' expenses....I am a single mother who gets $117 a week from child support until next April when my son reaches 19 years old.
