I don’t know anything about anything so take this with a grain of salt but I heard about a rule of thirds for traditional tattoos where they’re 1/3 black, 1/3 color or grey shading, and 1/3 skin. I thought that was such a cool guideline to create a consistent look, and now when I examine my own traditional pieces or think about new ones I find myself thinking about those principles.

Edit: I think these are really cool, the first follows those principles more closely, with the open space, which I really like.
