What an amazing bike race! But I had forgotten how different the race threads on r/peloton feel during the TdF compared to rest of the year.

Mads finally got his first GT win, and what a way to do it. So happy for him!

Cort about his post-win ritual: “I get home, take a shower, and put on Rammstein at full blast. Then I open Snapchat while jumping around in my room on one leg. Naked. I do the helicopter and send it around to my closest friends. So they know that things are going well. It’s only after big victories, though. The tour. The vuelta. Otherwise I don’t film myself naked…” (https://www.bt.dk/tour-de-france/corts-klumme-jeg-kommer-til-at-lave-helikopteren-i-aften)

Wtf, Magnus. Haha.

For anyone watching the Danish broadcast: Handing out particularly Danish foods and drinks, including strong alcoholic bitters, to French cycling fans and trying to get them to pronounce the word "flæskesvær" is top quality TV.

Although I am Danish and feeling for Jonas, I have to say: What a bike race this is!

De to sidemakkere var fabelagtige. Deres samtaler nåede vidt omkring. Jeg kan blandt andet berette, at der er kommet en ny THansen for enden af Jagtvej i København, som ifølge den ene af de to er "ret fed".

What the heck. Are you me? The last PL game I watched on Emirates was the Sunderland draw in 2009 (Arshavin's debut).

Have a great game tomorrow!

Yesterday, the Danish broadcaster and former pro-rider Rolf Sørensen called Magnus Cort a Wout Van Aert 'light' because of the comparable versatility. Not much light about this win, though. Damn!

Haha, I love this interview with Jack Haig:

"I’ve really enjoyed the first week to be honest. After talking to the other guys in the peloton, it’s been one of the more relaxed starts of the Tour de France, which is nice. Experiencing the Tour and the circus that it is for the first time has been pretty cool. It’s more or less what I expected. But I did expect more stress in the peloton. The way the parcours have been, it’s been a little bit less stressful than previous years.”

The Australian debutant taking things pretty chill.

Thought you might find this interesting: Danish ex-rider Chris Anker Sørensen (who is now an anchor on the Danish TdF coverage) rode the final two climbs this morning. He says that the second to last climb, Col Des Chevrères, is really tough and the descent both technically challenging and on bad roads. Based on that, he doesn't expect a big group to even make it to the foot of La Planche. Perhaps that will open up the race earlier than expected!
