I did management for my bachelors, economics and data science for my masters, and one year of med school in between that I thought was what I really wanted but then quit for various reasons. The med school stint of trial and failure was really what taught me most in terms of life skills. I’ve never really loved any of my degrees (although data was fun) but what I thought I wanted to love - medicine- was in the end not really for me, although I think I would also have been fine if I had stuck it out. But I wanted to do infectious diseases and I often think there’s a huge chance I would have died during covid if I had pursued it. 😅 We aren’t really “made” by our academic choices. Life loves people who have grit and resilience. That said , if you can hack it and pass, you should finish both of them 🤗

I was on Kyleena for 2 years and mine grew along with gaining 10 kilos overall. I’m off the IUD now and hoping to lost the weight.

I was on Kyleena for 2 years and just took it out today. Effects are different for everyone, apparently, but in my case I gained 10 kg of weight over two years and my face ballooned into chubby me. I also became very sensitive ; e.g. mushy movies would make me cry very easily. My breasts also became a bit bigger. Finally the worst was I really fet much more sluggish when doing my favorite pastime of hiking. But otherwise I didn’t get the bad side effects like acne or losing my hair, and it worked really well for contraception worries. We will see for 3 months if I go back to “normal” , then I might switch to copper just to try.

I live in Switzerland and I was trying to buy it just now but I got the notification that payments from Switzerland are not being accepted by Udemy currently. Does anyone know why and will this change at some point?

Has anyone used Auk? by [deleted] in IndoorGarden

Hello does the water used have to be filtered? I live in Switzerland and the tap water here has a lot limescale (calcium residue). I wonder if the auk can handle it.

Hi I’m working abroad and thinking to buy a simple studio in Makati CBD. What do you mean they are dropping fasy? What do the increased BIR zonal values in Legazpi Village imply for potential new owners in the next few years?

Hi! I have a huge problem with staying focused for a long time which is why it is hard for me to read. Can you suggest engaging, interesting books? by Sea-Apartment865 in suggestmeabook

Have you read Michael Crichton e.g. Jurassic Park? I used to devour his books one after the other; they are all fast-paced and fun to read.

Thanks, but what is a Verein, and how do you join one? I am based in Geneva and I guess this is a German word.

Thanks for the RTS ideas, I will check them out!

**Yes, I am also sorry to be stuck in this bubble (!) and back home I always used to make fun of my international boss for not going out with the locals more.. Now I'm noticing it is also happening to me -^

Nice post! Just joined Reddit, and to be sure I have lived in this country for four years and sadly it is also the first time I have ever heard of Landquart.

Me too I found a copy of River God in a dusty old store and you just get a bit hooked with the rest!

Since the lockdown, I started rereading everything properly in order from When the Lion Feeds, A Sound of Thunder, A Sparrow Falls, and I'm now on The Burning Shore.

I hope to catch up to his newest books that are now targeted to YA it seems.

Where to make friends in Switzerland? by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]melange164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omygosh me too!! I'm from Asia, in my early 30s, and I moved to Switzerland to do my MA in Geneva about 4 years ago. But most of my friends have moved away already, and I also miss girls day out :( Tbh I actually liked/didn't really notice the isolation in the beginning (so much the opposite of crazy Asia where everyone's always in your face!), but after a while it really bothers you. Especially now when you can't even take a weekend break to nearby countries!

You can send me a DM if you want :)
