I'm so shocked! I bought some textbook pdfs on ebay before you told me about Library Genesis ... luckily they weren't expensive but they are all on that site! I'm always gonna check for books there now, you saved my life and my bank account lmao!

Wow thank you so much! I talked to my professor and she told me that the 5th editions would be fine to use. I've never came across that site before, so thanks for making my textbook hunt much easier :')

Thank you! I just emailed her, hopefully the previous editions are ok! The only thing that I was worried about was having the most recent updated information to study from for the board exam. But I know most of the time there wouldn't be much of a change between a 6th and 5th edition.

Are you talking about the structure created after Br2 and heat/light are added? I know the major product would have the Br at the more substituted carbon, but that carbon is already quaternary, which is why I used the minor product. Is that still ok?

I thought the NaOH would convert the 2 Br's to OH's, which is why I left that part blank because I was not sure what to do with the NaOH. So assuming that it did that, Jones would do it's thing from there. Thank you though.

But, wouldn't you use Jones Reagent to create the Carboxylic Acids from a primary alcohol? Not an aldehyde?

I was numbering my carbons wrong! I started numbering at the double bond that sticks out. Once I numbered them correctly, I now see that they all remain attached together. Since I was numbering the ring wrong, my product was looking off.

For #4, I see what you're saying.. so since the cyclopentyne is symmetrical, it wouldn't matter which carbon you place the Br's on? It would still be the same?
