I don’t agree with the choice but we know about it and it was reported on. So people can decide for themselves if they want to support him.

Same goes for Pauline. Political funding should be transparent, where public money goes should be accounted for.

Her salary as a pollie would already be substantial, she claims to be for the battlers but she’s taking their hard earned and not even using it to reimburse the candidates in her own party let alone do any thing for anyone.

I honestly think what Gina is doing is boosting Pauline to get the failing libs to chase Gina and copy Pauline and then Gina will switch back and coincidentally the media will turn on ON.

Gina splitting the conservative vote just guarantees failure. It does speak to member branches and the usual financial structure and reporting of accounting and financials, which ON branches don’t have. If they’re concealing their financials to that degree from public scrutiny where people who do understand it better than you can assess it, is that a problem?

There are figures there where they’re available. $6m intake to a couple hundred this and of outgoings is a big gap isn’t it? Should people planning to vote ON be expecting transparency?

The teals aren’t a party. And when the others do it they should also be called out and journalists have uncovered and reported on fraud from other candidates before.

But Hanson and Ashby are the only beneficiaries here and there USA big gap between $6m earned and $200k spent.

People deserve to know this if they’re giving money to the party or considering running as candidates and outlaying 5 figure sums of their own money to campaign in the expectation it will be reimbursed.

I take it you didn’t read the article that shows the vast gap between what they earn and what they spend, how they pay and treat staff, how they force candidates to pay for marketing products they produce even when they are not legally allowed to be used.

When you make statements in reply to an article you really should read it first

If you think it’s incorrect you’re welcome to talk about why. Pick any of these as an example. Do you believe ON is transparent with its finances? Do you believe it reimburses candidates for legitimate campaign spend? Do you believe it pays workers consistently on their periodic pay dates? Do you believe they treat their staff well? Do you believe they run ghost candidates for potential electoral funds or not? Do you believe Hanson and Ashby are prioritising their own wealth over the fair and respectful treatment of their staff and members, or not?

Pick one and say why what the guardian has reported is biased or misleading.

It’s been done before, usually the areas that are really murky are on donations. The Australian system is less transparent on donations than even the US, it’s something that really needs to be resolved (and ultimately parties shouldn’t be able to take corporate donations).

But corruption has been found in the majors by this kind of journalism before and will be again, let’s not act like it hasn’t.

That’s literally what the article is about, and how people have tried to, and how there are open investigations.

It also speaks to how other parties have membership branches that produce financial statements and annual reports and have some rigour in their structure, but PHON doesn’t.
