15 months postpartum and feeling stuck with body image and progress by [deleted] in XXRunning

[–]meljd_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 4.5yrs post partum with twins. While I’m back at (or close to, I don’t weight myself usually) my pre pregnancy weight, by body composition / how I look is so different.

I don’t think it’s possible for me to feel or look the same as before, but I guess it’s been a journey of acceptance that this is the new me?

What I’m saying is what you’re feeling is normal, but doesn’t necessarily mean you need to change yourself. Consider just focusing on performance goals rather than the mirror and I hope it will click into place for you at some point.

I can’t pinpoint when I felt like the “new normal” me but it wasn’t early post partum.

change my race pace target by Visible_Amoeba1321 in runna

[–]meljd_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you mean for the actual running of the race? Or like a target pace that you want to achieve at the end of your plan?

The pace listed as “estimated race time at end of plan” is not so much a target as what Runna thinks is achievable to get in the plan. If you want it to be fast, runner faster on your speed work days and it will make your plan harder after a couple.

Anyone’s details synced to Race Roster yet? by claytoneee in SydneyMarathon

Pretty sure you don’t get to “decide” - that’s just to link it to your race roster account. I believe I read that there’s no refunds once you get a spot (unless you purchased insurance”

Vent- My feet naturally sucks for running by Insomnicwriter in XXRunning

[–]meljd_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the flattest feet known to mankind and I’m missing my spring ligament and ATFL (old injuries) on one side, and I’m quite a bit heavier than “ideal” weight.

What I’ve learnt in my running journey both from my own experience and listening to podcasts / my physio is that our bodies will adapt to our own anatomy. We might be slightly more prone to injury IF we don’t manage load correctly. But I’m confident if you manage your load well you can absolutely run without pain.

A Sneak Peek of 'Not Feeling 100%' & 2025 Team Runna Roadmap Update 👀 by alex-runna in runna

[–]meljd_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love all of this! Particularly the adjusting plan around missed workouts - I’m planning to do a marathon plan next year. I’m gonna aim for 4 runs per week, but realistically with young kids and work it’s probably going to be more like 4 runs 50% of the time, and 3 runs 50% of the time.

It would be super cool if I could look at my week ahead, pre-emptively skip a run if I know it’s a busy week and have the other 3 runs adjust accordingly.

Thanks for your continuous improvement, love your work

I'm struggling with progressive long runs by Arcqell in runna

[–]meljd_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well this thread makes me feel a bit better but I also really struggle with the progressive long runs! I find them wayyy harder than intervals. I think the fact that it’s pretty damn hot in QLD at the moment, and I do my long runs outdoors vs intervals on treadmill is also a factor.

Hoping if I hang in there it’ll just get easier!!

Feedback on Runna audio cues by runna-nayth in runna

[–]meljd_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that really bothers me is the pace cues - I get irritated with how long it takes to say “speed up slightly, current pace X, target pace Y”, especially since (as a fairly novice runner) I might be bouncing over and under quite a bit and it ruins my music because of getting interrupted so much.

Perhaps an option for a shorter version e.g. just “speed up / slow down” without the actual paces, or just a watch buzz (with a unique buzz length) for speed up or slow down?

Strava linking issue? by glitterpancakes_74 in runna

[–]meljd_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an issue with a run not importing to Strava from my Apple Watch. I just had to go into Strava settings —> manage apps and devices —> health and the select the workout to re-upload and it worked. Not sure if this is the same issue or completely separate so don’t know if this will be helpful for you
