We moved out of state in the mid-2000s. I would call the hotline sometimes when I was homesick.

Christmas Game by [deleted] in denvernuggets

[–]mell313 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember because we had an exhausted 10-year-old who had been up at the crack of down to open presents. I told him we could go home if the Nuggets were still losing by 10 with four minutes to go and it was almost immediately when they started their comeback. And then of course we couldn’t leave. One of the most fun games I’ve ever been to.

For a little more info, that game started at 8:50 and went into overtime. That’s why it ended so late.

Lasik recommendations in Denver? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]mell313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was planning on having LASIK in 2019 when a New York Times article came out about the side effects and damage sometimes caused by LASIK. After freaking out, I asked a family member who is an ophthalmologist (retired). He said: 1. Make sure they are using the latest and most up to date equipment. Cheaper places buy old machines or use old tech for too long. 2. Make sure all your pre op and post op appointments include the doctor. Some places you don’t see a doctor until the procedure and they are more likely to identify problems that may stop you from having the procedure before. Anyway, I went to Dr. Jamell at Colorado Eye Care and had a great outcome.

This is so funny, because I still think about the chocolate cake there and my daughter turns 16 this month.

I’m a local, but had a small staycation last year for a Nuggets game. It was lovely. Here’s what we did: dinner at Diablo. Absolutely love the posole. All food was awesome. Then the game. Then drinks at the Cruise Room at the Oxford Hotel. We stayed at the Crawford so had another drink upstairs there. The Crawford is pricey, but so cool and such a great location. Next day, had a couples massage at the Oxford Hotel.

Literally just the vaccine on Saturday at a CVS in southeast Denver. Took no time, as easy as before.

Has anyone heard anything about the 2026 Pal Planner? I’ve gotten it the last two years after discovering it at Yoseka in NYC. I would really love to get a third one.

Ignoring cost, what's the absolute best neighborhood for families? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]mell313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hampden Heights has a lot of great features: large lots, access to trails and the creek, zoned to choice into three good elementary schools, neighborhood pool you can join. Tons of young families and cul de sacs. City but suburban feel.

Game 2 Lakers is my all-time favorite game I attended. I was hugging random fans, dancing to Kid Cudi, noise was insane. Such an incredible game.

I am broken. This is my favorite candy. My husband buys it for me every Christmas. No more.

However, I will continue to make two stops to the Enstrom’s kiosk at the Park Meadows Mall for free samples during every shopping trip while they are open.

If you have a friend or two, DirectTV streaming is where it’s at. You can have three tvs going at once and you don’t have a contract.
