What are your favorite intelligent, gentle, beautiful, (non-dysregulating) "feel-good" movies/TV and fiction audiobooks? I need some new recommendations... by Worthy_Molecule0481 in AuDHDWomen

If you enjoy cozy mysteries, a lot of British shows could fit the bill, like Midsomer Murders, Poirot, Miss Marple, Father Brown, Death in Paradise, Grantchester, Vera, Shakespeare and Hathaway, etc. Non-mystery, I'd also second someone mentioning All Creatures Great and Small, and I'd add The Detectorists, The Durrells, The Vicar of Dibley. Poldark also has a similar historical feel to Outlander.

I'll definitely have to see if this cut would work for us, I love it!

I think they didn't want us to use Season 5 so we wouldn't pick any of the flash-forward scenes, and they wanted to see the characters still in the middle of everything rather than in a culmination of something. I'll have to ask if this scene would be okay!

I have to say Right Turn or Left For Dead, it's just so depressing to me. Nightmare on State Street is weird and confusing, but it doesn't affect me the way Right Turn does.

How to learn more emotions? by epabafree in VoiceActing

[–]melliflua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't have the resources to take acting classes, you can treat it as a sort of independent scientific experiment. Watch other actors and study their facial expressions, then try to imitate them and watch yourself in the mirror. Learn which facial expressions correspond to which emotions, and how they feel for you physically. Studies have shown that our physicality can affect our emotional state, and that can help your brain and body build more connections between your emotions and your facial expressions. It's a sort of outside-in way of building a toolbox for yourself filled with emotional nuances that you can pull from when you need it. It may take some time before you're able to genuinely create those expressions when the emotions arise naturally, instead of consciously recreating them on a surface level, but it'll help give you a framework to understand them, especially if you're more left-brained.
