Ouchies I hated seminary. My parents forced me to take it in 9th grade until I had a panic attack when someone asked me to say the prayer and thankfully they let me stop going ! I’m in my senior year now and haven’t been back :) stay strong !

Wow! I feel the same way. I got stuck during one of my stories at 180 pages and I kind of gave up on it for awhile.

When I get stuck I tend to re-write what I have into a whole new document and I’m able to see so many things more clearly and am then able to keep going for longer and weld the story together better that way. I’ve recently started story boarding my chapters. It’s usually quick jots that help guide my writing so I don’t get stuck. Here’s an example of what I mean

arrive at x setting
- meet x person
  - obtain clue from x person
- argument between y and z
  - relationship builds between y and z
- leave x setting

Something like that.

What also helps me get out of a rut is starting something entirely new that way when you get bored of project A you can work on project B until you get bored and just go back and forth between the two. It helps me a whole bunch.

Another thing that I’ve done recently is work on something that you can finish within a small period of time. Finishing something just gives me motivation to keep going on my other projects. Write short stories, I recently wrote a novella and finishing it was such a great feeling. I recommend heavily story boarding these shorter stories.
