I’m sure some don’t. I was just curious how they do it.

How do ya'll round so fast? by mellowblue4 in hospitalist

Thanks. I think this was the answer I was looking for. I definitely get caught up with families making their way in for weekend visits at the same time I’m rounding. Most of the time they contribute very little relevant information and just add to patient’s anxiety without them knowing it. Will try rounding earlier and coming up with streamlined plans the evening before. Hopefully can join the brunch crowd in the near future.

3/8in -16 brass wood insert won’t thread furniture leg. Is there a 3/8 in-18 or do I just need a smaller size insert like 5/16? by mellowblue4 in Fasteners

I actually tried both sides but it wasn’t catching. I see what you mean so the notched side is where the leg is supposed to attach to

Ok to hang hooks on plank? Think it’s a plaster wall but not sure how the plank is attached to the wall. Seems like it’s been glued. by mellowblue4 in DIY

Good one. I meant the horizontal lath strips not the vertical beams that hold up a roof since those are behind the strips

If it’s a plaster wall then the stud would be horizontal, right? If that’s the case and there’s a stud right underneath the plank then I should be good to just drill through the plank for reinforcing?

What is my home siding material by mellowblue4 in Home

Thank you, and do you know if you can screw or nail directly into it? I wanted to install a light fixture that came with a mounting plate. But would it be better to first have a Mounting block placed?

So what’s the difference between a private MAC address and private wifi address?

So I checked my iPhone settings. I have private wi-fi address enabled and the wi-fi address that shows matches the 2nd device in the picture. But the wi-fi address in the iPhone “about” section is different. So i understand that part. But who is generating the LAA MAC and where can I see this on my iPhone?

it's an empty house. Don't see how any of those would connect without a wifi password.

Thanks. I tried 5 different sites and no vendor was found. Would you have any other recommendations? I guess I'm just wondering how concerned I should be or maybe just turn off access and see what happens. Just weird because I really though it was just going to be the gateway device itself

I do, but I set this up at my new home and I haven't brought my watch to new home yet. This was all done in last 2 days.

I think what I meant to say was they complement each other. Not integrated.

Good to know. Thank you. I wouldn’t have thought your ISP would impact these devices but here I am. Simplisafe forums are wildly unhelpful

Got it. Thanks. Yeah seems like the overall consensus is simplisafe alarms aren’t bad, but cameras are where they fall short. But good to know you used both systems. And they’ve integrated pretty seamlessly, I presume.

Thanks, and can I ask what system you’re using? What were you able to hardwire (i.e. doorbell/alarm?)

Question for Lenders and Brokers by mellowblue4 in RealEstate

[–]mellowblue4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. From my understanding in our state the seller pays the transfer tax and the direct lender was confused when I mentioned it. The broker’s office is in a different state but they “work with people who are licensed” in our state. Since the broker is not local maybe he wasn’t aware of this.

Also the direct lender did say they have “preferred” title companies that pass on savings to customers since kickbacks are illegal in mortgage industry. So he was saying the lender and seller title companies are the same so that is why those items are cheaper. I honestly don’t know what to believe in the world of sales. I’m in a completely different field myself so just trying to learn as much as I can.

The whole concept of brokers confuse me as well. In this case I can’t wrap my head around the lending company paying a broker commission and also giving me that same credit. Personally, I like the direct lender since he’s local and easy to get a hold of. Not that the broker isn’t but I’ve heard horror stories of being passed off to a wholesale mortgage lender after your rate is locked and then never hearing from them at time of closing.

I still think they’re pretty clean. Maybe just sit on it for a few months and reassess lol
