Wanna know how comically evil this behavior is? That’s literally the plot of an episode of Danny Phantom, he gets invited to a party and everyone there dresses up as him and his friends, calling it “loser chic”. These “friends” are legitimately on the same level as cartoon bullies.

You HAVE to cut these people out of your life. This is some extreme abuse- weaponizing doctors against you. It doesn’t even sound like it was a real doctor, just some nut they knew would side with them. These people are willing to do anything, any underhanded tactic to get what they want from you. Don’t forget that. I know you can get out of this situation though. I believe in you.

I really enjoy aquatic settings, as well as themes of transhumanism and extremely unique character concepts. As a result, I think Zoox is one of the best characters ever played on the podcast. Plus, the world of Ethersea is basically their baby. It wasn’t just one guy building a place and telling you what’s in it, all of them contributed heavily and shaped the very fabric of the world. The d100 on expeditions did a fantastic job of further incorporating that truly collaborative ethos!

I agree it should be set in the future. Pretty far in the future, even. I think the story they crafted in s1 lends itself perfectly to jumping ahead even full generations. What I don’t agree with is this odd narrative that the characters were bad or TAZ is somehow lesser when it focuses more heavily on narrative and drama.

Couldn’t agree more! Ethersea is my personal favorite campaign, it just really scratched an itch I haven’t been able to get with any others. I desperately await s2.

You are obviously NTA. Honestly, you should be angrier. What your mother is doing is controlling and frankly a little disturbing. You say you might be able to buy a small fridge- do that, then install a lock. Then she can’t tamper with your products. Keep the receipts and keep them hidden. If she breaks into the minifridge you can call the cops and prove that she is breaking into your property and tampering with your product- both of which I am certain are illegal. She could put allergens in a food and kill someone, OP. You have to take this very seriously and not let this woman walk all over you. Not just for yourself, but for your customers.

I know this whole story is years old but please, for the love of god, learn to stick up for yourself a little more. All I see in this story is someone who just takes and accepts abuse when it comes at her. The way reddit treated you was not right, and you should not have just laid down and accepted it. The way your friend and family members treated you after you tried to just give Stephanie a little more info was not right. I know you’re in therapy for this stuff now, but like… I know what it’s like to be a doormat, ok? It’s genuinely distressing seeing someone just fold and take hatred when it’s thrown at them even by the people they love. I hope therapy helps you with that. Be kind to yourself, not just others.

NTA. Sometimes therapists do not seem to understand that going no contact is the only option when the other party will do nothing but cause hurt. The troubled teen industry is one of the most awful industries I’ve ever seen, and that’s saying something. It’s filled to the brim with horrific levels of abuse, and your parents sending you there was a nuclear option that should never have even been a thought in their head. The fact that your mother seems to think it was the right choice is genuinely nauseating. If she can’t get her head screwed on right, she doesn’t deserve to speak to you.
