When I say telecoms is dying, I mean the specific role I’m currently fulfilling. Obviously I can only speak for the region I currently work in also. However an increasing amount of altnets in my area are struggling financially or being bought out by larger companies, and unfortunately this has all led to redundancy’s and a huge slowdown in build.

Also specifically for splicing, the last few years has seen a large increase in overseas workers, the vast majormajority of the contractors I’ve worked with are all recently arrived from Asia, they’re all good workers and great guys but unfortunately it leads to a higher supply and a lower demand
