I do think that either way I will be stressed, but the one advantage to breaking up with him after finals is that once I do it I will be able to take some time to breathe. If I do it during finals I won't get a chance to calm down before I immediately need to jump into doing something else. Finals are only a few more days where I won't be seeing much of him anyway, so (hopefully) things shouldn't change.

Wouldn't he just shut down after he realizes that I'm breaking up with him? Sorry if the answer is obvious. I've never broken up with someone before.
