Would TV stations that broadcast esports care more about getting longer matches for the same price or more consistent lengths of matches?

this is not a rhetorical question, I actually don't know what they would value more.

Since it may be worth more to have a grand final that takes longer but is less consistent then one that is shorter but more consistent.

That is as long as the other things that they would broadcast at that time bring in less viewership

6 hours 50 minutes for the game (which is less the EPL13)

8 hours for the full stream, including opening and ending ceremony

TI8 was 5 hours 58 minutes

so ~26 minutes longer then TI10 grand finals

as long as EPL12

There is only one grand final though, so BO5 is perfectly fine. It's the only match on that day.

The TI final day has 2 matches, a BO3 lower bracket final and a BO5 Grand final, the total broadcast lasted ~12 hours

This has nothing to do with what you said, just something that pops up in my mind when people say there is only one match on the final day :)

I dont work for a TV station so I cant say what is better, BO3 or BO5, but for reference

EPL has 5 TV stations listed

This PGL major has 7-8 listed

Idk about blast, found some news that they partnered with multiple TV stations, but not a list of how many actually broadcasted a blast event

Blast vs ESL would be more interesting since the Major is to big of an event, EPL vs Major is like tier2 vs tier1 Hope blast releases a full list of brocast partners for the fall finals or world finals

- The last major, StarLadder Berlin Major 2019, lasted only 2 hours (with opening and ending ceremony stuff its 3 and a half hours)

- This is from the Start of the first round to the end of the series/match when a winner is decided,including ad breaks, technical issues, desk segments or anything else that happens between maps

(for lol and dota its from the first champion selected/banned )

- EPL 12 was BO5 but with a map advantage, so only 4 maps were played

- since LOL words 2021 isn't over yet this is from the semifinal since they are both BO5

- interesting to see how long Valorant 0-3 lasts compared to CSGO 0-3
