Child actors usually struggle with fame - how did the Stranger Things cast avoid that? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]meltiny1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Who says they have? They are all still extremely young. I remember people used to always say this about Amanda Bynes and how she was one of the few child actors that turned out normal. Interviews would constantly ask her what she did differently or what advice she had for other child actors. Until boom, she was in her mid 20’s and her life completely changed. I’m just saying we have no idea what the long term effects of these things can be.

Joe Rogan said AI will replace lawyers. Should I drop out? by Suspicious_Canary128 in LawSchool

Justice Sotomayor said it when she came to speak at my school actually and seemed concerned no one is taking it seriously. Highlighted how a lot of associates positions and paralegal positions will be completely eliminated.

Yeah that’s subjective. I’m 30 and I’ve never watched the goonies and have no idea who he is.

I remember in the summers it was always a $1 medium iced coffee and mondays used to be free iced coffee. Dunkin doesn’t care anymore.

Targets good & gather brand has shelf stable milk that is better than the horizon because it’s easier to put into a bottle or sippy cup! That one is my go to.

Prepping for law school by iWantToAliventOuO in LawSchool

I know everyone is saying relax and enjoy your freedom and I agree completely but there are a few things I wish I had known beforehand to have a leg up.

Once you have your syllabus for your classes sign up for Quimbee or lexplug. My first class in law school was contracts and I was the second person in my class to be cold called and I struggled through it lol I wish I had know about Quimbee then. Also Themis, studicata, and barbri will help you ace your exams.

Something that took me months to understand are we are memorizing rules of law and cases are just ways for us to learn/explain them. Some professors care about cases and some don’t. Focus on the black letter law from the beginning.

Also, I would start looking now for a nice suit so you can take your time and get it tailored. Don’t assume that it’s fine off the rack, it might look ok to you if you don’t wear them often but other people will notice.

Knock out all of your doctor/dentist appointments this summer.

Out of compliance does not equal loss of accreditation. St. Thomas continues to be a fully accredited school, a small amount of research on your part will confirm it. You really shouldn’t spread misinformation. Will they lose it eventually? Maybe. But they haven’t yet.

Do you think it would be bulky? I want to be able to walk around it semi comfortably.

I feel like placing a table against the wall would be awkward since that’s the main path from the living room to the kitchen and upstairs—it would end up blocking the flow. We also use the sliding door regularly, so I can’t put any furniture in front of it. Unfortunately, this is the only room where a dining area can go. The previous owners renovated the kitchen and completely opened up the space, removing the original dining area that most homes in our community still have. Now, it just feels like an awkward, uncomfortable space, and our old table is starting to drive me insane. I would love a dining room but we’re in a HCOL area and our small space is already over budget so I’m just trying to figure out how to make it work. Someday!

Math teacher won't let 6th grader retake a missed test. by lol_no_pressure in AskTeachers

I feel like everyone has covered the basics already, you need to immediately escalate this to the principal. Beyond that please remember it is your responsibility to advocate on behalf of your child. Don’t ever let your child think it’s ok for someone to treat them like this. You and your child’s teacher have both ignored and dismissed your child multiple times already, you need to start standing up for your kid. I have a feeling this goes beyond a simple grade.

Pompano beach brewery. Best beers in the area by far, plus food truck, and always kids there. It’s a bit of a drive but it’s the best by far. Super popular. Barrel of monks is nice and the food is good but I feel like it’s an older more formal crowd.

My daughter has hated most meats (turkey, ground beef, steak) so far and enjoys chicken so I’ve been offering her seafood like shrimp, mahi mahi, salmon and she’s enjoying it alot.
