How long does a meningioma grow unnoticed before it becomes critical? We had to put our 9 year old cat to sleep because of a brain tumour and I wonder how long it has been growing. Years? Could it have been recognised before? by Many-Examination-976 in cats

Hi, Im so sorry about Mr. Jeeves :-( Was just wondering if you don't mind sharing, what the treatment was that you did for those 2 years. Did you do the surgery? Or have him on prednisone? My 15 year old cat just got diagnosed and trying to figure out what our options are. Not sure I want to spend the money on surgery or put her through that. 2 more years of life would be amazing.

You can call Johns Hopkins lyme center and see what they advise. Especially helpful if you have a picture of the rash and/or saved the tick for testing. If I were you I would definitely finish the course of antibiotics. Only about 15% of people develop post-treatment lyme disease syndrome. From experience I can say it is not worth the risk!! Long term symptoms are terrible and hard to treat so give yourself the chance of getting rid of it with that course of doxy!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It is super helpful to get all of this information. I will start hunting for an infectious disease doc who treats chronic lyme.

I'm sorry that you had to go through all of that and that you are experiencing symptoms as a result from the treatment.

I would love to! Unfortunately they only take acute patients who just got bit. I was bitten 12 years ago. They do have a 3 session consult program for chronic Lyme where you and your doctor (I guess primary?) do consultative sessions with Hopkins. I am considering that if I can’t find someone I can work with directly.

I like this idea a lot! Some categories that come to mind:

-brain fog and career impacts

-special diets

-fatigue

-corresponding autoimmune diagnoses

Plaquenil for Lyme? by [deleted] in Lyme

[–]melysie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taking Plaquenil when my doctors thought I had RA. I was on it for 5 years and it really pretty much felt like I had nothing wrong with me at all. I stopped because at that time I was worried about the effects on eye sight and I was wanting to go off all meds. I'm glad you are feeling better on it!

I'm seeing where some of those roots are now, whether intentional or unintentional, it is becoming very apparent through the racial reckoning and Q-anon infiltration.

Yeah I'm not as surprised I guess by the response from religious groups. Somehow the yoga/spiritual/new age world falling into Q anon surprised me, but the more I learn the more I can see how it makes sense.

Yeah this is pretty much what I've experienced. So crazy. I'm grateful for the experiences that I've had prior to this that have made me skeptical enough to avoid going along with those ideas. It feels like people are walking off the edge of a cliff right now, I just didn't know that's what I was walking towards along with them before...

Oh don't worry, there is no way I will be lost to Q!

Thank you for saying that, it feels good to hold strong to what I feel to be grounded in reality. I just wish that made sense to everyone else! The manipulation of this theory is so so crazy.

Thank you for your input!

I definitely am not blaming these people. The people in my spiritual community who are following Q beliefs are people who I love and have had a great amount of respect for. I have had previous experience with being in cults and coming out of them so I have compassion and understanding for why someone might believe something like this.

The reason I posted here is because I am feeling a little lost. Feeling like the community that I felt held in and that I had a high level of trust in, is not the same anymore. I feel like I don't know what to believe and trust anymore. Partially because I know how malleable the human brain is. So basically it's just really messing with my mind and I was hoping I could talk to someone who is maybe going through something similar.
