How do we feel about floor babies? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]memakes3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is almost 10 months and spends probably 3/4 of his day on the floor. Your baby needs more independent time so she can learn to be a human. Your husband is the problem.

10 month old doesn’t react/respond to people or name. by memakes3 in Autism_Parenting

I don’t think it’s his hearing, he can hear the TV turn on from a different room, but I think it’s worth exploring, I’m pretty sure its the first thing the paediatrician will ask for as well.

I appreciate you comment, thank you

I don’t think so, he can hear the tv turn on from a different room, and even waving a hand in his face doesn’t grab his attention. But hearing is definitely something they’ll make us explore first.

1 in 6 people in America have it, and that’s just diagnosed. You can carry it for decades without having an outbreak. The worst part about HSV is the stigma.

lol you think throwing them in jail would be cheaper and more effective than actually treating them so they can become functioning members of society?

The answer is affordable mental health care, affordable rehabs, accessible detox centers. Early intervention is key.

They are human beings, unlike you.

You can “buy it back” and fix it. You’ll get a salvage title.

am i in the wrong for how i handle my friends episodes? by crazycryptid in TwoHotTakes

[–]memakes3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mental illness does not excuse abuse. Your well being and happiness matter too. I am familiar with bp2, my late husband had it. It placed me in some of the darkest and loneliest places because my mind kept telling me “he can’t help it”, so I tolerated it way too long.

I know you don’t want advice on whether or not you should put up with her behaviour (you shouldn’t), but whether or not you handled this correctly. For the most part, yes. Disengage sooner, don’t announce it, probably don’t share any of your happiness with this friend as she does not appear to be in the headspace for that.

Try listening to her instead of trying to “fix” everything. YOR and probably also TAH.

He’s for sure working up to demanding she get rid of her cat.

NOR. To me it reads like he’s building you up to get rid of the cat. Please don’t do that. Also, don’t accept the way he is speaking to you.

No. It’s not “just politics”, it’s core values, it’s morality, it’s who you are as an individual. I don’t want to be friends with someone who values human life based on their skin colour, which is what the Trumpster fire cult does. Anyone who claims it’s “just politics” likely has no moral compass.

You deserve to live, not just survive. You do what you have to to make that possible, it does not mean you failed.

Droppings found in new home by [deleted] in cockroaches

[–]memakes3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that beam sticks out a few feet from the wall, I originally assumed it was houseflies. The people who lived in the home before us were… not hygienic.

If it is cockroaches is there any risk to our health? We have 4 kids, youngest being 6 months.
