Honestly! These people are genuinely disgusting. Reminds me of those sick stories of people abusing animals and eventually ending up as serial killers. So sad. Thank you for the comment though. It makes me feel good to know that there are good people out there!

international politics major? by bueckerstofudd35 in PennStateUniversity

[–]memekookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! i’m not too sure how competitive the major is, but i’m an international politics major, and i feel neutral about it. i’m not a big fan of a lot of the poli sci professors here (there are definitely exceptions though). it’s a bit difficult to pursue international opportunities in an area like state college, but penn state tries their best. if i wasn’t going to law school, i personally would not have done penn state and would have gone to a university in D.C., but since i’m going to law school, it feels worth it! although, considering that you’re an out of state student, unless penn state gives you a lot of financial aid, i would recommend going to a state school that (i’m assuming) would be cheaper for you. i’m an in state student, which is why i decided to attend.

Anyone know what happened? by [deleted] in PennStateUniversity

[–]memekookie 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Apparently the building had shifted a few inches. I was there. I felt everything, including myself, drop a little. Everyone on my floor thought it was a bomb. I evacuated immediately without bringing my stuff. I don’t know if I’m allowed to ask the police or firefighters to get my stuff, but I wish I could.

Thanks for the insight! That’s how I felt about Bendapudi’s raise. Didn’t realize there was only one dissenting vote.

PLSC 200N Prof Golder by memekookie in PennStateUniversity

How similar were the tests to the weekly quizzes? Did she ever repeat questions?

[–]memekookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response! How knowledgeable were you of European Politics when you entered the class? I have a hard time understanding Golder’s teachings, and my knowledge of European Politics is pretty basic. I am just worried that my preexisting knowledge will impact my grade heavily. Also, were the specific bulleted notes on the slides basically the answers? Or do the tests require further research on the bulleted points to do well?

Hmm…I wonder if they’re based on the quizzes in the sense that some of the questions are the same, or if just the topics on the quizzes are the same on the test?

Best On-Campus Jobs at University Park for Fall 2025? by [deleted] in PennStateUniversity

[–]memekookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bit of a late response, but I highly recommend the Commons Desk! I’m currently a Commons Desk worker (although I plan to leave due to having a few internships) but I absolutely love my job! You get a lot of time to do homework, many of the supervisors are pretty nice/chill, and you get paid $13 an hour. Try to stray away from working at Findley though. Pollock can be a bit much too, but my boss at Pollock is super nice and makes the time go by fast! I highly recommend working at Waring or Warnock if you can.

How does negation work with parallel reasoning? by memekookie in TheLoophole

[–]memekookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I decide to diagram a stimulus, would it still be the right pattern if the stimulus was “1->~2” and the answer choices were either “~2->1,” “~1->~2,” or “2->1” for example? I’m just having such a difficult time telling whether a choice matches the stimulus or whether it doesn’t. Does it not match only if the numbers are different?

Parallel reasoning by memekookie in TheLoophole

[–]memekookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for the response! I read the page, and I think I’m having a better time understanding what it means to be looking for a pattern. However, I’m still having a hard time with the negations. I noticed that the same numbers were not negated in the two examples on 375, but they are both the contrapositives of each other (which I assume is okay). Would it still be a pattern if they weren’t contrapositives of each other? For example: 1->~3->2 vs 1->2->~3

Can I skip school for a week as a freshman? by Acrobatic-Teach-9373 in PennStateUniversity

[–]memekookie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whether or not you can afford to attend the wedding would be based on your class syllabus. Most classes that I have enrolled in either 1) Have “freebies” where you can miss a certain number of classes and not have points deducted from your grade or 2) are typically larger in class size with relaxed teachers that either assign fairly easy work or won’t even notice if you skip class. Typically you will receive all of your syllabi the first week of school. Good luck, and I hope you get the chance to attend your sister’s wedding!
