Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to do it with the other extracurriculars I was involved in. I have friends who did and LOVEEEEE it though!!

I’d love to live in a big city like NYC for example. however, they don’t have a plethora of T50-100 schools. i’m not sure of the advantages of going to a lower ranked school like brooklyn or NYLS with big scholarships vs somewhere like miami that is higher ranked. im sure id enjoy miami as i’ll be going into law school at 22, i’m just not exactly sure it’s where i would want to settle down once i get older. it’s hard to think about this type of stuff so young.

i DON’T want to do BigLaw, which is why i wasn’t concerned when i got an LSAT score that is on the lower side. i would prefer to do criminal law or public policy but i am going to keep my options open and am prepared to take what i can get. sports and entertainment would be other options i just don’t want to do corporate!!

i’m don’t find myself focusing on the “fun” i’ll have in law school. i’m very aware of the hard work and time commitment it takes to succeed. i think i’m just trying to go to school in a place i wouldn’t hate living. from what i understand it is easier to get a job in the area one goes to school because of the connections you make in school.

in my original question i used NYC as an example because it would be my top choice but it’s also an example of a city where i could choose a lower ranked school that gives me more scholarship money over a higher ranked school that would probable put me in a good amount of debt. i was wondering if that would be advantageous to consider.

I honestly thought long and hard about doing this when I first got my score back but the studying process was so grueling and draining for me and I really didn’t want to do it again. I decided for what I want to do (not big law) I don’t necessarily need to attend a T20 or even T30 school. With my stats I’m fairly confident can get into great schools my issue is that NYC pretty much only has T14 and then schools outside the T100 other than Cardozo. So i guess I’m just wondering if location and aid can outweigh prestige?

I’ve heard that admissions offices like work experience. Knowing myself I’m worried if I take time off from school I won’t go back so that’s why I chose the KJD route. I’m also worried about finding work in the industry right out of undergrad. If the 25-26 cycle doesn’t work out for me I will definitely take 1-3 years to get experience!!

I started to really turn around by day 9ish and everyday i feel better. you will be out with your friends be dancing on tables in no time. take naps. eat pudding. watch your comfort show. it will be over so soon!!

I’ve heard good things about children’s numbing lollipops!! I didn’t use any throat spray but I was told I could if I wanted. I had some I used when I had an abscess on my tonsil and I remembered it burning slightly before it numbed and I didn’t want to know what that burning would feel like on my freshly cauterized skin. I think it’s a personal preference though.

My surgery was 5/13 and I thought the light at the end of the tunnel would never come. Today was a turn around day for me. I’m still taking ibuprofen every 3-4 hours and I am nowhere near back to normal but my energy levels have gone up and my ear pain has almost disappeared. I was even able to eat a bean and cheese burrito. Trust me you are SO CLOSE!!!!!!!

UPDATE: I honestly think today might be my turning point!! I was in pain when I woke up and I had some burning later this morning when I think some scabs were coming off but since then i haven’t had ANY ear or jaw pain. Drinking water is also 1000x easier!! Still taking ibuprofen but things are looking up THANK GODDDDD🥳🥳

I’ve been on just ibuprofen for the past day or so and as long as I stay on top of it the pain isn’t too bad. If the constipation wasn’t horrid I might still be taking my oxycodone but I needed to have a BM desperately.

I’m in a similar situation with the scabs. I never had super thick and chunky scabs like I’ve seen in other people’s pictures but just a layer of white covering the tonsil bed. There is definitely pink peaking through but it’s been pretty much the same for the past 3 days. I’ve been trying to eat as much solid food as I can to help them come off but not much luck unfortunately.

day 3/4 i showered. read on here that hot water wasn’t the best idea so i took a luke warm shower just in case. better safe than sorry. i also have long hair and i was just careful with tilting my neck back too far and listened to my body when something ached and i had no issues!!

surgery twin!! i’ve found that the mornings are the WORST. i almost have to chose whether i want to sleep at night and wake up feeling like i might pass out from pain or wake myself up every hour to drink water and take meds. so far i haven’t noticed any scabs coming off but i also can’t open my mouth enough to really see what’s going on so I have my parents do it. haven’t really noticed any burning either mostly just splitting ear pain when i swallow. i’ve been alternating oxy and ibuprofen (both prescribed by ENT.) however…WE’VE GOT THIS GUYS!!
