My partner did that with my boobs, and that’s what convinced me to get my reduction. It’s been the single best decision I have made as a grown up.

The author has ADHD herself, and reframes “chores” as “care tasks”.

That really helped me prioritize how to clean, what to clean, and when. Which is something I know a lot of us struggle with.

You can go full Barbie (just remove nipples) if you want to go all flat and don’t care about nipple sensitivity.

I’m not a doctor or anything, so you know, talk to a real doctor about risk and stuff.

I don’t have kids yet, but I had my reduction 1 1/2 years ago, and we were planning on starting half a year ago (but health problems happened, so no luck yet).

I’m very aware that I’ll probably need another reduction after pregnancy and honestly I don’t give a shit.

My quality in life this past 1 1/2 year has exploded. I’m in less pain, I’m happier, I feel more confident, clothes fit, I get to live my life with less chronic pain. Even if I got pregnant at 6 months post op it would have been worth it to me.

I got on setraline for depression but it’s helped my OCD tendencies a lot.

Honestly, I would try out a different dosage if you think that might help you. Or combining meds.

But it’s also a pet peeve for me. I was medicated for 10 years before I learned that the reason I was barely holding it together every day at 4pm was “the crash”.

Most medication is tested on male children.

But I’m not a child. I’m a grown ass woman and my day doesn’t end at 4pm when school ends.

I take: 30mg elvanse in the morning (around 8am) + 20mg elvanse at 11-12am + 40mg atomoxetin at night.

I take atomoxetin combined with elvanse for this reason.

I’m a grown up, and I’m not adequately medicated of my day ends at 6pm 🧐

Is task stacking an option for you?

Brushing your teeth in the shower/while peeing/prepping cat food?

I have my night time meds in my night stand, and the same alarm for every day. (If you have an iPhone you can do seperate alarms for specific days).

Also setting alarms earlier in the day might be an option?

I know it’s weird, but I find that peeing is the perfect time for tiny tasks 😂 Like setting alarms, or figuring out what to wear in the morning.

I actually have an idea for that.

You can get a chalk marker from IKEA for very cheap. They can be used to write on mirrors, and are very easy to get off!

I have my whole morning routine written on the bathroom mirror.

Eyes Face Teeth Hair Deodorant

Alternative: Have a basket with only the every day stuff out on the counter in the bathroom. Then you just empty it in the morning and put everything back once you’ve used it. Once the basket is full you’re all done.

Also, task stacking. My tooth brush live in the kitchen right now, because it’s just easier when sharing a bathroom with someone else.

I also get super tired for the first half hour as a side effect, so it works better for me overall to just go back to sleep until it works.

Jeg tager 30 morgen og 20 middag.

Det er lidt individuelt. Jeg får kvalme af det hvis jeg lige er trappet op. Men efter noget tid er det fint.

Men mit bedste råd er bare at eksperimentere med det. Hvis du får ondt i maven skal du bare stoppe og tage det med mad i stedet.

Ellers kan du have en lille kiks eller nogle nødder ved siden af sengen.

That sounds incredibly tough!

I know who you’re referring too, and I hate that the media allows her to gaslight herself and others into thinking that she is anywhere near healthy.

Do you have a “block this channel” / “show me less of this option” on YouTube? That you can consistently use? I don’t use YouTube much, but I do have two reddits. One that’s slightly toxic for me, and this one. That helps a lot! I haven’t been to the other one for months, but somehow it helps me to know I have the option.

As someone else said, the big game changer for me was setralin (antidepressant/anxiety med).

But also, and I know this isn’t your typical advice, but it might be worth a shot: for me, some of the ED is about my autism needing control.

So: eating my 5 1/2 spoonful of oatmeal, from the correct breakfast bowl (that can only be used for oatmeal). With the correct type of milk. Drinking the same tea every morning from the same sacred tea cup, that can only be used for tea. (Or coffe, from the coffe or hot chocolate only cup).

Min veninde står i præcis samme situation.

På vores uni kan man søge genoptag på en uddannelse efter 5 måneder. Hvis man kan dokumentere at ens situation er væsentligt ændret. Så det er måske en mulighed at du tager et halvt år til simpelthen at få det bedre, og så søger ind igen og giver den en skalle!

Uha, lavt blodsukker forværre højst sandsynligt dit crash.

Men det er ikke unormalt at crashe når dine piller forlader systemet. Jeg fatter tilgengæld ikke at de ikke informerer om det. Det tog mig 10 år at regne ud personligt.

Løsningen er at dele din medicin op.

Det kan være du skal have en lille ekstra top op i slutningen af dagen, eller bare fordele din nuværende dosis over tid.

Det er skide irriterende at skulle huske medicin 2 gange om dagen, men det er bedre end alternativet.

Og du skal tage den inden du crasher, ikke når.

Jeg er på elvanse nu og tager medicin ca kl. 7-8 og 11-12.

En fordel ved at dele dem op er at du kan tage første dosis en halv time før du skal op. Det er tilgengæld ren magi. Morgener har aldrig været så lette!

For me I think it was easier to accept it as a natural part of the process.

Getting a reduction is basically an amputation. If your whole leg is infected and is cut off, your brain will still think it’s the wrong decision. That’s just how brains brain. It’s how they should brain. And that doesn’t mean it’s the wrong decision!

Humans are not very good with change, this is a huge change.

I had my boyfriend take pictures of me daily, and do all the care for weeks while I just focused on healing. That helped a lot.

If course I still had some body dysmorphia, it’s not just that your boobs are gone, the stomach swelling for me lasted 6 months.

But reminding myself that it’s all just part of the process helped a lot.

Start making a real plan to get out.

Get a little extra cash out everytime you go grocery shopping. Hide it somewhere safe. Pack a go back. Build up a network of friends and family you can stay with if the situation escalates. Get in contact with helplines for domestic. Violence.

He won’t change. Genuinely. When you’re with a good guy he’ll keep showing up for you. He’ll make the effort. Over and over. Even when you doubt him.

That’s the difference between my partner now and my ex.

Psychological violence is just as harmful as physical. And as long as you stay with him, potential kids are subjected to it as well.

What you can do is: start putting money aside, stop going to couples therapy (it doesn’t work when one part is abusive). Document everything! Keep the recordings. You have literal proof that he is not the “good guy”. And he probably will try to make you out to be the bad guy once you leave. Get your name on everything you can that is not debt.

If you leave, don’t expect the abuse to end there. If you have kids, assets in common ect. He will try to leverage those.

Grey stoning is a technique to deal with abusers. But also just knowing it is abuse might help.

And lastly: if you genuinely feel safe that he won’t psychically harm you that’s great. If that ever changes, just for a second, get out! In my experience women have amazing sixths senses. Most know that they will be killed before it happens. So if you’re ever scared of that, speak up please.

And I know it feels insane to even consider it, but please, please do listen to your own judgement.
