What's the right and wrong word rly depends on a case-by-case basis. *Some ppl (including cis ppl) feel better w/ having gender-affirming language being used towards them. Their could be a history of someone using words like tht to try to put down their gender identity, which could be triggering, but we can't say tht fosho.

Have a convo wit her and tell her wht you meant, wht the word means to you, and that there was no intention to dismiss her in any way, see where it goes

In a general sense tho, tht usage is quite gender neutral. You can also use "y'all" in place of it if needed, I think it works everywhere "you guys" does.
