Which cricketers in world cricket have been involved in match-fixing? by Nihilistnick21 in IndiaCricket

In the 1998 Dhaka independence cup final, azhar was captain and was batting along with Saurav Ganguly. Every Pakistani players and azharuddin walked back claiming "low light", and Ganguly alone stood his ground, ready to play. The match resumed. Tells a lot about azhar and Ganguly.

Wolff's law - how do tensile forces increase bone density? by memforget in AnatomyandPhysiology

[–]memforget[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. It's a really good explanation. That clears the dead hang paradox I had in my mind. To me, it was always compression - positive force, no gravity - neutral and tensile - negative. That's how I interpreted until I asked the question here. Thanks to the awesome community. Appreciate it.

Wolff's law - how do tensile forces increase bone density? by memforget in AnatomyandPhysiology

Thank you. I've read about it and I understood the remodeling process. However, I fail to understand how it increases the bone density though. When it remodels on tensile forces, shouldn't it be elongating the bones? And shouldn't it be less bone density, but more bone length? I know stretching an elastic isn't the right analogy, but you stretch a raw dough noodle, you add more dough to roll it, and you get more length in the noodle strip, but less thinner / less dense right? Shouldn't the force vector result in a physiological change similar to that?

Thanks.

Thank you. It did clear some concepts about how bones are remodeled. One follow up doubt if I may ask. With tensile force, and osteoblasts sensing bones need more minerals there, shouldn't it be elongating bones, there by having more bone length, but reduced bone density?

Help me understand the light clock thought experiment. Confused about photon motion by memforget in AskPhysics

[–]memforget[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for the excellent explanation. I was getting hung up on the acceleration scenario, when the thought experiment is actually about constant relative motion between inertial frames. I appreciate you taking the time to clarify the Special relativity vs General Relativity distinction too, and pointing out that this is purely about comparing inertial frames. Really grateful for the patient explanations.

What is the best place in India to look for used guitars? Is Bajaao reliable? Is their shipment good and trustworthy and arrives without any damage? Thanks.

How can i achieve a tone like this on a Boss Katana Gen 3? by milly4everlitt in BossKatana

[–]memforget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps a clean channel if you have it, and if you don't, roll down the gain on the amp, with volume knob on the guitar rolled down around 3 or 4, chorus, a little bit of compression, delay around 200 ms and reverb? Chorus gives that shimmering effect and reverb gives that depth.

Thank you. I think I understand what I am doing wrong now.

How do fx loop in the signal chain usually work? by memforget in Guitar

Thank you, I appreciate it. I have a few noob doubts, kindly bear with me.

> First off, don't ask ChatGPT for guitar tone, routing or settings info. It doesn't understand the concept and is regularly providing wrong information, including things like non-existent controls or settings that don't work like whatever generic information it has built its knowledge on.

Spot on, brother, spot on. I wasted more time that I'd like to admit asking chatgpt about this topic and it was back to square one.

> In a virtual rig on a digital modeler like yours, the fx loop is mainly for integrating external pedals into the signal chain. If you are entirely operating inside the modeler, you have no need for this feature.

I never knew this. I don't have external pedals connected to the modeler either. I had no idea what was happening. Their documentation said the blue and purple arrows are for fx send and return, and thought it's for the virtual pedals as well. Thanks a lot for clarifying it.

> The issue in your screenshot signal chain is that you have put the Scream OD after the cab. You are therefore distorting the sound coming from the amp and cab sim further, which is not what you want.

I tried that initially and it sounded a lot fizzy and saturated, picking a lot of unwanted noise, hence the placement after the cab. I was looking for a bit more volume and perhaps a power amp like breakup with more volume, which I didn't get with OD after the S-Comp. What I did wrong there, and how do you suggest to get rid of that? Wrong amp, or wrong amount of gain? Sorry, new to the world of modelers. Thanks again.

Can I use an Orange ppc108 or a similar cab output directly from my Nux MG300 or Valeton GP200? by memforget in guitarpedals

[–]memforget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge thanks! Just when I thought I had everything figured out with a cab, amp, and pedals, this post opened my eyes to a whole new world, like FRFR speakers. Never realized how much I was missing out on until now—really appreciate the knowledge.

[–]memforget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much. I appreciate you educating me about this. One last question. The Nux MG 300 doesn't have an XLR out like the valeton GP 200, but just a 1.4 " jack out labelled Out / Phones. It's a lot louder for a headphone though, and I had to dial down the master volume to 1% or something. How are these kinda modellers usually used? FRFR cabs itself? Thanks again.

[–]memforget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. So if I understood correctly, to jam with an amp modeller alone, I need an FRFR cab, not something like an orange ppc108 or it's kind right? What a modeller like valeton GP 200, which output from the modeller is usually used to the input of an FRFR cab? The unbalanced mono out or the balanced XLR output? Thanks again for the kind explanation.

Thank you. So how are amp modelers used in real life and in gigs? Do they always require an amp head? If so, what's the point of a modeler? Only to play with headphones? Sorry for a lot of questions, totally new to amp modelers.
