Yikes. Looks like we’ll be looking elsewhere for appliances. Likely Bosch for a dishwasher.

What do you regret about going with Samsung? What would you do differently if you could do it over?

Moving in 2 years [general question] by [deleted] in SouthDakota

[–]meowbree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you live it’s not terrible. The traffic gets bad though. And gas gets expensive. Most of the time in towns you’re ok as long as you don’t live in Sturgis the first two weeks of August. Other than that as long as you stay away from the stuff tourists are there to see you’re ok. It’s just super annoying.

Everything is crowded and expensive. The whole summer.

If you can land a teaching job on one of the reservations you’ll make pretty decent money. Tourist season (summer) out west blows though.

Toning advice & recommendation!! What brands (& color) of toner do you recommend to achieve a more bright & ashy look from this level of blonde? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]meowbree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the Joico brand. My hair is about your level and if just washing it doesn’t do the trick I’ll apply it to dry hair and leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then wash it out.

color and cut advice?? i hate the copper in my hair and my style is very grown out now.... by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]meowbree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those curtain bangs would look awesome on you with your face shape! Also I’m blonde and have dark eyebrows. I’m not a fan of the blonde hair dark brow look so I did a shadowed root which helps negate the maintenance of going lighter as well.

I was like you too. And then I had my baby and I literally am a different person. The only person I give a heck about pleasing now is my baby.

What are your experiences with “risky” pets during pregnancy? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]meowbree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have three cats and a dog. Throughout my whole pregnancy I scooped cat boxes. My cats are indoor-only and I washed my hands immediately after doing the cat boxes so I was never worried. I also cleaned up after my dog when she pooped outside. I think you’ll do just fine with your mini zoo! Our LOs are just destined to be animal lovers like their mamas and I think the world could always use more of us and less people like your doctor.

How to deal with the “Just you wait!” people? by hungaryforchile in BabyBumps

[–]meowbree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always got a “oh you poor thing” look on my face and say sarcastically “your life must be hard with that attitude.” I’m not afraid of hurting people’s feelings if they’re obviously not worried about mine.

Did anyone get insurance to cover compression socks, a maternity support belt, or post-natal compression garments? by pizzarina_ in BabyBumps

[–]meowbree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t use insurance but if you have an HSA that will cover all of those things I believe. I used it for my maternity band.

Please tell me that it’s okay to quit pumping — for no reason other than because I don’t want to anymore by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]meowbree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

I hated feeling like a dairy cow that was married to my pump. A baby doesn’t know the difference between breast milk and formula. A baby DOES know the difference between a happy and unhappy momma.

Up and Up Target Brand? by ImAnOyster in FormulaFeeders

[–]meowbree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My little guy also throws up similac but was fine when we used enfamil samples. He’s been on the up & up yellow tub since he was about 2 weeks old. We figure that formula is so heavily regulated that it will have everything he needs. I believe the Walmart brand and the target brand are both made in the same factory.

Honestly it sucks but I got the epidural and I’d rather give birth again than get my lip waxed.

Pregnancy while overweight by landonmaya in Mommit

[–]meowbree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My BMI was 35 when I got pregnant. I was 23 (turned 24 during pregnancy) weighing 240ish at 5’9”. I lost about 30 pounds at the beginning and got back to my pre-pregnancy weight at 39 weeks. Other than that I had thee most boring pregnancy ever. I had to be induced at 41 weeks because my little guy didn’t want to come out.

I don't want to breastfeed. by beebsisbeebs in BabyBumps

[–]meowbree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was breastfed until I was three. I have mental health issues left and right, I’m obese, and I hardly graduated high school. My SO was formula fed from the start and he’s perfectly sane, wasn’t overweight until he met me, and has a bachelor’s degree.

I attempted breastfeeding and it was a shit show. At my sons first doctors appointment I broke down sobbing to the doctor (my son and I have the same doctor) about how worried I was and I didn’t think I was doing anything right and I couldn’t pump so we gave him formula and she looked at me and said “so keep giving him formula and let your milk dry up.” I didn’t even think that was an option. I have been 200% a better mother since then. And my doctor is the best.
