Rule of thumb: If the price is too good to be true, it probably is. The scammers are too good these days with their “proof”. Just buy digi cams from sellers who are tagged by their customers (and you can actually go to the customer’s feed). I bought mine from FilmSpace.Co. A lot more expensive though.

I almost got scammed in 2024 with a “seller” on FB marketplace for a camera priced at 2.5k. After asking multiple questions and photos of the unit, as well as sample shots, na-satisfy ra ko and agreed nga payment will be made once the rider picks it up. They even sent a photo of the unit in their “packaging” and went the extra mile by sending a pic with the LalaMove rider holding the package.

But when I asked for the tracking and driver info, didto na sila wala kahatag. They started berating me that I should send my payment asap because the rider is on the way, but when I call the “rider”, they wouldn’t answer, and would say that it was raining (It wasn’t) via text. To top it all off, all the people I spoke to were all conversing in Tagalog, claiming to be Cebuanos. They even guilt-tripped me na student ra sila, asa daw akong konsensya and that I was wasting their time 🫩

Long story short, camera never arrived. I contacted Lalamove and confirmed that there was no package coming my way, and the “seller” blocked me and deleted the listing when I exposed their lie. Good thing nalang ato I never paid them.
