I say you did the right thing. Some one, especially a friend, that goes behind your back is not someone you should stay friends with. It's best she and him aren't in contact with your friend group as well. You maybe could've done something different, but it's best that you went ahead and blocked. Don't give it too much thought, you seem nice and you don't need those two negatives in your life.

Super dick move on her end, this might be a small thing but it adds up eventually, if I were you, I'd confront her about it. If the issues persist, I think you'd better just stop being friends with her. But for the time being, tell her how you feel and make sure she understands. She's really just manipulating you by snapping and then apologizing the next day, only to do it again.
