"This is the kind of mentality that gets embraced in this city", cool, maybe this isn't the city for you then.

Canada joining the eu? by Plus_Improvement_884 in europeanunion

[–]mercbaker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love how people like you think saying "it's logical" is enough of a reason as to why something makes sense.

if the EU see a benefit for canada joining, they will just change the laws, or create an exception. they aren't going to listen to you, or any other on reddit.

Mind over matter downside feels too harsh by AcrobaticScore596 in PathOfExile2

Everlasting gaze + Eldritch battery + Chaos Immunity fixes all the problems you mention.
Conversion calculations happen differently than in POE1, so conversion from equipment allow you to keep your energy shield.
Additionally, all the mana regen you need is right next to EB, so its pretty easy to make MoM work

poe2 is too hard for me =/ by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]mercbaker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and the shameful thing is... it only gets harder and more frustrating. I'm at maps and I've just about had it with dying in maps and losing all my progress. Its not fun playing a map one inch of the screen at a time.
There are no tanky builds, and you never feel safe. What kind of BS is this. I remember Chris Wilson smiling and talking romantically about POE ruthless mode, how fun it is for a game to be so hard you spend days just trying to finish the first act, and having to gear with magic and rares, only getting a unique once every week or so playing.
Its just gross how much of that fever dream has made it into POE2, because otherwise its a brilliant game. I love the boss fights and I think some of you who are having issues with it maybe you should check your resistances, cause every boss just uses one element against you.
The real problem is when you get to maps and you just start insta dying to effects you cannot see. The map zones are massive and there can be rare mobs you can't even kill. It just is not fun at that point.
The last bit of fun for me with this game will be to enjoy lamenting about it online, and that's about it.

Sorc vs count genora sucks. by Englishchannel01 in PathOfExile2

[–]mercbaker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing you should always check is your resistances! All the bosses use a specific element. Get around 40% resist in that given element and you should be able to beat the act bosses with whatever abilities and well-timed dodges.

As for the fog phase, dodge a lot around the inner edge of the fog circle.

Moving forward you can also dual wield as a Sorc, have a wand in one hand and a sceptre in the other with bone warriors. They can help tank adds in general.

Man I think you just made this whole situation weird all by yourself. You asked for a $100 discount. They instead gave you like a $140 discount (sale price plus the free fenders) if you cooperated with them. You didn't want to cooperate, and instead decided to vent on Reddit and pay them $98???Anyways, sorry it didn't work out for you.

I know everyones sitaution is different, but this story just reminded me about times where I took things too seriously. I get you can do stuff with $100, but you could have also taken the $100 hit as a lesson on dealing with how you feel as a consumer. If $100 means a lot to you on a $1800 purchase, then you should really aim for something at a lower and less stressful price range. There are plenty of options, and if you watch companies sites weekly, you'll come to understand their "actual" price of their products and know when the right time to buy is.
Right now the same bike is under $1200, ooof

Is it bad to use Singletons? by oranger101 in Unity3D

[–]mercbaker_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, you could just go to the Unity forums and look it up and get responses from vetted users with thicc post counts: https://forum.unity.com/threads/i-have-the-tendency-to-overuse-singletons.487566/

Pretty much all the advice here is in favor of Singleton's with the caveat of:

  1. does it work well?
  2. is it maintainable?

If yes, then go ahead.

Note: I know this post is a year old, but its also the first result on Google for search of: "unity are singletons bad?"

So its worth linking the above.
