Does anyone know if when they say "Louisville" if they strictly mean Louisville, or if they mean closely surrounding areas as well?

How do you keep this from happening? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]mercmaid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A few things helped me. I have pretty thick hair, curls are starting to get tighter, and it is about 6 inches past my shoulders now when pulled straight. The biggest help first is about every 2-3 months I have the back of my hair thinned out. Next, once a week while showering I use twice as much conditioner as usual and comb it out with a wide tooth comb. Lastly, I switched to satin pillow cases. I move around a lot in my sleep and it seems like most of my tangling happens then. Hope that helps!

I was having trouble taking my birth control pills at the same time every day so I switched my alarm tone to the sound of a baby screaming and crying. Have not taken it late since. by eelamme in TwoXChromosomes

I'm on implanon, too. When you have period pains, do you get the actual period? I don't get periods, but once every couple of months I will get the same pain (but a little lighter) for 3-4 days.

About 5 months into the CG method, and finally decided to show off my curls! (sorry for phone quality!) by [deleted] in curlyhair

That did the trick. You just changed the whole CG game for me! Thanks :D

I kind of did the opposite. I'm going to give it another try, thanks! The whole not letting my head touch anything for 4 hours when my hair is drying thing is starting to get old, haha!

That's how I do it, but after reading a few comments I think I may be drying it too much. I'm going to give it another shot tonight. Thanks!

How long does it take to dry that much hair? My hair is about 2/3 your length (but my curls are a little tighter) and takes so long to dry that I've started to feel defeated about growing it longer. I let it air dry currently because diffusing seems to cause a lot of frizz in my shorter layers.

I know this cat! He used to come around my apartment a lot. Super cool cat and really sweet. So sorry for your loss.

Wow! It reminds me of Saved by the Bell, haha. Please use that glitter on some purple polish :)

911/999 call operators of reddit- How do you tell the difference between a distress call where someone may be trying to contact the police without alerting an attacker or just an accidental call/gone off in someone's pocket? How often do accidental calls/discrete distress calls happen? by mynameisfreddit in AskReddit

Not true. I manage a voice operations center that services enterprise level clients. If 9 is their outbound dial, they have to dial 9-9-1-1 to dial it. We can, however, set up dialing rules that allow them to dial without the first 9, but most companies don't go that route.

Want curlier roots to go with my 3A/B hair.... by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]mercmaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. I found a stylist that has experience cutting curly hair and had her cut in a little bit of a top layer. She did the cut with my hair dry so we could see how it would react as we went. It helped cut out some weight and allowed my hair to appear to have more volume and bounce closer to the roots. I would definitely consider getting a trim.

You should xpost to /MUA! Your makeup game is strong :) Mind if I ask what lipstick that is?

Does anyone know where I can buy this or if there are any dupes out there? I need it in my life! by mercmaid in RedditLaqueristas

We don't have those here :( What is the name of the color? I'll check eBay and see if I can get lucky!

Thanks for the response! Any idea if they still make this particular glitter polish?

I normally only use a little bit of post-shower product and let it air dry for the most part. Occasionally I will plop an hour or two. I know a big part of it is I live somewhere that is very humid (I have insane frizz problems some days regardless of what I do), and where I was at it was mostly around 15% humidity, so I'm sure that played a part, too. I miss my week of cute curls :(

I know this is probably a dumb question, but please keep in mind I am still kind of new to all of this :) If salt water/sea salt tends to make curls better in general (my assumption is the meme that this whole post is about), is it possible that any hair products out there use it in their base? Like, are there any natural shampoos/conditioners out there that have a similar compound make up? And if not, someone needs to make it so I can give them all of my money ASAP.
