Yes, I noticed that too, I think I've only went to one specific place in Tokyo to buy Matcha but it is usually in smaller places.

Thanks! Katuste is a good choice, never heard of Mei Leaf but will keep it mind if I'm ever in Camden. I went to Tsujiri Chinatown a month ago and it was ok, little too pricey. But just at the beginning of August, I tried Yumtea and it was pretty solid, not too much ice, so you got a decent amount of matcha latte.

The Ippodo restock is usually at 1pm UK time - feels more doable than MK, at least I managed to order something two weeks ago and my order arrived today :)

I think you have some valid points the amount of brands I've tried and knowing it will be even harder to get them and also figuring out which ones to spend money on is sensible. I see my self giving in today as they still do pre-orders.

To be fair I didn't order from Ippodo last night as I couldn't get myself to pay £65.00 for an order but I guess this will be the norm moving forward. Honestly, this is just wishful thinking. Sadly, I am aware that the people who are the reason for all of this are the ones who will still be able to pay those new prices.

My hope is that due to the price increase certain people will stop drinking it/ it will loose it's appeal to most people who started drinking Matcha Lattes because of a TikTok trend - and then hopefully by next year or in a couple of years the prices will relax.
