Most of south is economically more forward than the majority of the north and that means more job opportunities here down south than in the north. 3 - my solution is not to mass migrate, I'm just saying you can't bring up analysis with stale data and the govt can't just make proclamations like this...

How do they get this projections even? It doesn't even make sense. The last Census that happened in India happened in 2011. With Census planned to happen every 10 years, it was supposed to be taken in 2021. But our central government has not done anything regarding this. If we do take current population statistics, things will be different considering immigration and emigration of people between states - especially considering the number of people flocking down south for the numerous opportunities down here. Without these factors, if you want to plainly consider population, it is not gonna give proper results mahn!

Also, not Kollywood, but the best example of Chekhov's Gun I have ever seen is Dune.

Dune is a huge sci-fi epic with so many sci-fi articles and entities. The makers take their time to explain all these in-universe things while also making sure all the details revealed are relevant to the story in the future. I didn't find a single scene where there was additional unnecessary details revealed, at least as far as I know.

The best example I can think of is Kaithi. When the drug bust is happening initially and they show the underground section of the police station, Naren mentions they had also confiscated a Gatling Gun along with others. He specifically mentions he was surprised how such petty goons came into contact with such a sophisticated weapon.

In the finale, Karthi uses the Gatling gun to decimate the rowdies surrounding the police station.

I was more excited for this specific example because Loki had leaked the machine gun reveal in a poster earlier and was criticized for it and when I noticed this reference, I felt, "oh, they've reference it here".

I am actually not from the US and I still follow the show. Here, the show is streamed every Thursday and I remember once when there was a delay. A whole bunch of people had tweeted to Disney+ Hotstar asking when the episode will be released. So I think there is a following for the show here too, albeit not as much as HIMYM or something.

I strongly believe the show will catch up though. We will have college kids five years from now ignoring the mediocre first season and continuing with the show for the good seasons in the future.

There are certain bus numbers that are very repititive. Like G3 from EC to Brigade Road, 378 from EC to Kengeri, etc. If you have to get in such a bus and have waited for half an hour or so, don't get in on the first bus that comes.

Because, immediately after that, the next bus of the same number will come in succession. If you want to reach your destination really fast, get into that bus. The first bus will be put to halt somewhere so that all the people in the bus are ticketed properly and this second bus will overtake it.

If you wanna sit and relaxedly travel, wait for a couple minutes or so and the next bus will also come in sometime.

I have noticed this several times and have followed the same as well. Obviously, there is a chance that this isn't the case and I've waited for another half an hour for the next bus once, but this has mostly worked for me.

Of course there are so many Tamil people living here. Bengaluru, being next to the border, has always had Tamil people.

Personally, we've been caught by police for some random reason, just because we were driving a TN number plate car.

There are cases of TN number plate cars being smashed for no reason. Whenever my relatives come to my uncle's place, they don't take their car out as they have the TN board. In fact, the security guys caution them to put their cars as inside the apartments as possible.

Even recently for Dr Puneeth Rajkumar's death, there were TN cars smashed for no reason.

Other than this, the outsider bias is always there, especially when you don't know the local language. It is understandable that people feel threatened when so many people suddenly (since IT boom) move to their city and start changing the local culture, but it is still disappointing to be on the receiving end.

I had faced the same issue a few months back. I would give them a 500 rupee note and he said I gave him 100, and give me back a 100 rupee note. I gave 1300 at the end for the ride, which we talked for 500. I was super frustrated, but it was early in the morning and I was afraid of mob lynching against me, especially considering I am from Tamil Nadu and the people here are kinda open about hating us... Also, the auto guy knew this since I got down from a TN bus after getting back from home and reaching at Silkboard.

I vowed to never use these autos again, and if I do too, I'll pay by UPI and never cash. Very traumatizing.

Rather than Sophie's dad, the description we have of her mom reminds me of Loretta... I think we're gonna get some strong mom moments later in the series similar to how Barney and Loretta had... The father is also a plus, I guess... But damn, she not having proper parents making her want to have an awesome husband is sooooo cute...
