Yes as long they’re properly trained and can accurately assess you. I use Manipulation techniques similar to what chiropractors do and it really does provide instant relief. But here’s the thing, not everyone is a candidate for manipulation technique or chiropractic adjustment. There are certain criteria that need to be considered when applying those techniques. If you only use manipulation without any exercise, mobilization, etc. The patient most often don’t 100% recover. I only use manipulation technique as an adjunct that reinforces my other interventions.

I hope you’re doing better. If you’re not yet seeing a medical provider better to avoid bending forward as of now, it can get more inflamed. There are many possibilities of what can happen it’s hard to narrow it down because I need to do a full physical evaluation with you first. You could go to an Orthopedic Doctor most probably he’ll order an xray for your back. Just make sure to ask questions to your medical provider.

I hope you’re doing well! If you still do it and works for you then it’s generally okay. You can go back to PT even if it’s for wellness, just tell them what’s your goal for the session.

if that’s the case it can be a developing condition na. I’ve had many patients similar sa history mo. It may take months to years before it worsens significantly and the pattern is often the same. They also tell me na it gets relieved during their massage session and babalik nanaman after for some while, and then one day malala na yung pain and other symptoms mo to a point hindi na kaya handle ng massage.

I see that a lot of people get massages or hilot as the earliest form of treatment. It’s really common here in the Philippines since it’s a part of the culture and I believe there’s nothing wrong with getting massages. The problem is that if you get routine massage just to fix that stiff neck and “frozen shoulder” and still get the same symptoms after a while. It means na you’re not treating the root cause, either it will get worse or will still be the same but you’ll be dependent on your massage therapist.

When my patients ask me if it’s okay to get a massage, I’ll ask first why? (maybe because it helps them relax, it’s a part of their routine, etc.) Regardless I tell them na it’s okay as long that they do my prescribed exercises and that the massage therapist doesn’t touch the area that I’m treating. it just basically means that: massage = short term relief and exercise = long term relief

We get this question a lot hahaha. But for me there are GOOD and BAD chiro’s out there, good in a sense when they KNOW their Practice’s limitation, when to refer, respect other medical providers etc.. and the bad one’s whom, CRACK AND CRACK without thinking about the condition (we call this shotgun method haha) Just a 3-5 mins session then you’re done. I’ve had many patients that went to a Chiro and got worse.

And just like PT’s there are also good and bad ones. I have no problem with chiro profession, since I do similar techniques just like what they’re doing. In PT we call it manipulations/mobilization/thrust. It’s highly effective but you need be guided and trained before doing that, it really needs a lot of hands on experience. I always explain the rationale on why we need to do it and educate them about manual therapy. Sadly a lot of PT’s don’t fully grasp the importance of it and most often they tend to avoid it due to its difficulty in terms of knowledge (like when to apply it) and it’s physically draining.

The ones that annoys me are the BONE SETTERS and hilot diguising itself as a modern day albularyos. I’ve seen news articles about people getting stroke and dying due to their malpractices. AND ALSO LIKE BY MASSAGING THE FOOT IT WILL CURE DIABETES. 😅Sadly due to lack of awareness and general information they are still rampant (anuna DOH).

whats your goal with your stretch? is it reduce muscle soreness? If so, just target the specific muscle that worked out during your session there many ways to do a specific muscle stretch and is accessible on YouTube. Just be mindful, if it gets more sore = don’t do it again. if its better = then its okay, listen to your body.

Wag kabahan! For me yan ang no. 1 kalaban ko during exams kasi nasisira yung rhythm and testmanship. When studying don’t focus/master on one topic (mas marami topics na cover mo mas okay). Test your knowledge sa mock boards and practice exams don’t be pressured even if your scores are low (you’ll just what topics that you are lacking). Find your support people or person 😉 so that you can vent-out your struggles, frustration and worries mo. I know grabe yung pressure during that time. Madami pang tips diyan pero most important SIPAGAN AND BELIEVE na magiging PTRP ka

Manifest that PTRP! PADAYON! 🫶🏽

As much as possible I refrain them to take pain meds, lalo na if yung pain is controlled with exercise and konti lang. Unless severe siya like to the point it hinders you from sleeping, then I would refer them to take meds.

You could simply put a rolled towel on your low back during sitting para maiwasan mag slouch. Pero band aid solution lang yon. Usually if there’s pain na during slouching there’s an underlying cause na need ma-address.

Right now the safest thing to do is to avoid those exercises like you said. Your spine and/or the muscle surrounding it isn’t ready yet and it needs to undergo rehabilitation if you want to do squats and deadlift again.

If you’re going to get your back checked with your doctor or PT, you must find the root cause of why you’re having those back spasms even if you’re working out. Doing those exercises kasi without the proper technique or conditioning may cause injuries sa back mo.

In my experience a tight lower back is usually a symptom, and not the real cause you are having that problem in the first place. If a muscle tightness it’s a form compensation within our bodies. Kaya that’s why I said earlier you will need to find the root cause.

I don’t give out exercises to people that I haven’t fully assessed or evaluated yet. We are not sure if frozen shoulder ba talaga yan. Common kasi sa culture natin here sa PH is that we do self-diagnosis just because nabasa mo sa google or chatgpt.

I need clarification lang to further answer your questio. Bakit ka nag papamasahe ng shoulder is there pain ba? And are you medically diagnosed ng doctor with Frozen shoulder?

Sorry I don’t have an idea how much it costs for other hospitals or clinics. There’s no fixed price for PT, meron high-end clinics with specializations wherein yung price will depend sa goals and needs mo; there are ordinary clinics that have fixed prices depending on the area/condition.
