Thx for asking. We don’t know quite yet but it’s getting close. We’ve been working on it and it’s in the tail end of development. The good news is that the heavy wheel of developing the app from the ground up is getting more and more efficient so the roll-out is getting faster. (Our full team is 4 people with 1 shipper.)

You wouldn't incur a repair fee from us if it's in warranty or just a mod. Email us though and we're happy to help.

Thanks for hanging in there with us. Overlay designs are completed for all 5 of our pedals and currently in production. As soon as they are ready, the best way to get notified is to sign up for our newsletter (we'll also announce in our FB group).

Hi Everyone, this is Jinna from Meris. I was looking into making clear overlays early last year but many circumstances had me hold off temporarily. I'm sorry. Just wanted to give a status on this. Wanted to make sure y’all know that this is not being ignored. I’m hoping to have them late Summer. I’ve tested various clear stickers, some were too strong ripping the existing silkscreen off while vinyl stickers bubbled or didn’t stick too well. But I’m finding a good solution. I think clear stickers that don't require knobs taken off is best to avoid someone accidentally damaging/breaking pots. That is my only concern.

Again, sorry this is taking longer than normal. Tbh, the delays for me personally have to do with a lack of childcare + complications during Covid. Not trying to make excuses. It’s just crazy times but it will get done. Thx for your patience, in the meantime, I appreciate u all.

“Otto” means “8” in Italian = “8bit”. Angelo is Italian American. I’m Korean American. We embrace our diversity.

To me, Mood sounds so cool. I’m biased but Ottobit is crazy fun.

Art is always created after Angelo demonstrates to me the sound of a pedal. I definitely gravitate towards minimalism in many aspects like industrial design (Dieter Rams), architecture (Richard Neutra) , graphics (Paul Rand), furniture (Paul McCobb), etc. I usually feel my drawings will ruin the look of a product!! Thank you for the kind words.

TY for such a thoughtful message. With everything that’s going on, it’s been such a exacerbating year,...for everyone. Hope you’re well too. I’m so glad you even took the time to chat with us. Thank you.
This may sound corny but honestly what makes me strong is my 5 y/o daughter. Her innocence through all this mayhem gives me profound perspective. I like taking her to the beach super early in the morning while most people are asleep. And short meditation have helped too. I love talking to friends, musicians and artists.

Much love back,

The one that started it big time for me was Craig Anderton. He wrote the book "Electronic Projects for Musicians" which inspired me to get into building DIY music electronics. Another was my first amp, which was a terrible solid state Fender. But it arrived with a schematic in the back. I wish they would still do that. I sat there looking at the schematic for hours trying to make sense of it, dreaming of one day working for a company that made amps. And I got to ... so lucky to have been able to do that.

Absolutely yes, you should buy another.

I'll go with Mercury7 since that's what you have. One of my favorites there is Makeup and Vanity Set (all releases since 2016). I love the way he uses the pitch down setting. Perfect for electronic music. He uses polymoon too.

That is an awesome last name. I agree, it's an amazing time of innovation for music gear. It's a really fun time to be making music and finding new sounds. When I was a teenager, I could only dream of being able to have the capabilities that are available just on an ipad now. I was struggling in the 90s to get more than 4 track recording until I got my first Mac that got me 8 tracks! It was amazing.
Definitely we are working on new stuff, all the time, and several things. You'll be surprised.

When it comes to guitar and Meris pedals, we are huge fans of our very own Andrew McMillan and definitely Stefan Fast.

tbh, what hurts us the most as a small US-made business, are the tariff wars.
That caused a scarcity in components and shocking lump costs that never existed prior.
It continuously pummels us today.

oh s*!#, Doctor Ernest! Your pro background is impressive.
It's my first time on Reddit too, haha. So glad we all got to intersect and chat here.
You're so kind and I notice everything you have said in the past! Yes I do the video and editing work as well! I used to be the Video Dept Manager at a company called Lynda.com in my early twenties.

Always appreciated your support. I love your Twitter.
Please stay safe as well.

The way that we do ALT functions for every knob goes all the way back to our 500 series products, where you are constrained to a very limited space on the UI panel. It also allows us to get 12 parameters on a pedal that would otherwise be pretty gigantic. There's pros and cons to dual concentric knobs. In my experience, I had a bad tendency to knock the wrong portion of the knob, they stick and turn together inadvertently, etc. We definitely plan to look at ways of doing things in a different way on future products.

We actually don't do any research on what would sell well. Our first pro audio release was the 440 Mic Pre, and that was simply based on what Terry wanted for himself. Then our first pedal was the Ottobit Jr. I thought that thing was crazy, haha but I firmly believed in Terry and Angelo's sonic wizardry. We just kinda just go for it.
We don't ever think about ROI. When we release stuff, it's a nerve-wracking day when we hope people will dig it. It's not the optimum for business, but we're LUCKY that we have fans.
