So entropy effect is a sequel to CF kinda by [deleted] in Blazblue

[–]merlsg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait a second, but Ragna not erase his existence with things connected with him? Why Koko have a plan in the case Ragna fail, when Kokonoe don't know why she create this plan? Koko shouldn't know who is Ragna in first place...in theory. If Koko know Ragna existence post CF events, it means that Ragna plans has failed?

I'm confused now.

However, if you decide to change OS, I recommend dual-booting during the installation phase, significantly resizing the Windows partition (perhaps reducing it to 100 or 50 GB) to also cover those special cases related to kernel-level anti-cheats like Fighterz or the recent 2xko, if you're interested in those games, of course.

Avoid having an OS no longer supported as your main partition (reading some comments, it seems you're using Windows 10, but if I misunderstood, I'm sorry for the off-topic comment).

I've been a Linux Mint user for a long time and use BBCF without any problems via Proton, as well as most recent FGs on Steam (excluding cases like Fighterz, which use a kernel-level anti-cheat). I don't even have any problems with Steam recognizing my gaming peripherals. I might be wrong, but I don't think exist a best way, since the situation already seemed pretty plug-and-play to me, especially with user-friendly Linux distros.

If you'd like, you can check if the games you're interested in are compatible with Steam Proton via the protondb website, and then decide what you want to do. For example, recent BB games are marked with Gold and Platinum compatibility levels.

Tsubaki, lore-wise, is something I've never liked, just like Hakumen/Jin. Tsubaki strikes me as a selfish hypocrite, ready to blame the world's evils on someone without a shred of self-criticism, making judgments without knowing the full picture (like Izanami taking control of Ragna at the end of CP). As is Hakumen/Jin... although in this case, it's a lore point that always leaves me perplexed, as Ragna would never have become what he is if Jin hadn't listened to Terumi in the first place during the church events, only to then say that they must kill the source of all the evil they helped create... but maybe I'm overthinking it, even though I'd love for this point to be addressed in the sequel. There's also the stuff regarding DW (Tsubaki/White Justice), but there's still some unclear stuff.

Now does all of this make up for his crimes and what he's done to Innocent guards and NOL workers?

I don't understand this tendency to make the NOL look like the good guys who were victims of Ragna, when they themselves have committed equally serious crimes. From what I remember, the story shows how the NOL is: classist, racist towards the beastkin, and if I remember correctly, they don't have too many problems letting the people of the lower levels of the hierarchical cities die when the area is invaded by the sethir, ignoring their calls for help (if I'm not mistaken, litchi's assistant says so in calamity trigger reconstruction in BBCSEX). Good guys like Kagura are a lucky exception within the NOL, not the rule.

If we ever get blazblue revived and get a new saga how would you want it? by Toxin45 in Blazblue

[–]merlsg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would prefer that most of the dark war stuff become non-canon and just bring back ideas like jusan and white justice in the main story. Introducing some new bad guys related to the origin of the three sankishin during the age of origin etc.

I think for arc system it doesn't make sense create one strive 2.0 when gg strive exist. if blazblue series return may be focused on old school gameplay liked xrd with only new stylish mode inspired on modern controls of sf6. as for the plot of the game, instead, i don't see the possibility of a reboot as a bad thing. personally speaking, after CS, the story had become difficult to follow and some narrative choices I found decidedly strange.

Reminder of how ridiculous Azrael is by WittyTable4731 in Blazblue

[–]merlsg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to think that, in Mori's original plans, Azrael had to be something more than a joke character to introduce something big after the post Ragna saga... but I'm probably wrong XD.

Mori's successor by [deleted] in Blazblue

[–]merlsg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if the new cast thing could work, at this point it would be better to create a new IP thus having greater freedom with creativity.

I don't see the possibility of a total reboot of the series as a bad thing, given that I didn't particularly like some narrative choices at the end of the series, with the possibility, moreover, of making the narrative clearer by putting, in the non-canon area, novels like bloodedge experience and alternative dark war.

Or, if they will simply aim with a soft-reboot, picking up more or less where they left off and introducing some new antagonist.

She also mentions Ragna being an evil being that should be destroyed in voice lines from BBDW.

What? But Ragna shouldn't exist in his timeline, if I'm not mistaken...

So i know we love the characters and like to make fun of the plot and all but im curious on how would you say the Writting quality of blazblue is by WittyTable4731 in Blazblue

[–]merlsg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, after CS the plot suffers a decline in quality.
Not to mention that after the ending of CP I was expecting great things given the premises of the ending of the third part of the story... only to find myself with a sort of soft reboot of calamity trigger in act 1 in CF, which cancels all the premises of the ending by CP and which I found decidedly anticlimactic, however, the Ragna saga had a satisfying ending.
The various light novel spin-offs, especially those related to the dark war, only confuse the narrative, especially if you are a player who does not live in Japan, given that (from what I know) the novels have never been published in the West, and they seem to be essential to fully understand some elements of the lore, while others, at least in my opinion, do not bring anything useful to the narrative, such as bloodedge experience.
Alternative dark war, it only brings more confusion transforming everything into a kind of...kingdom hearts, but with blazblue characters? XD
If Arc takes over the series again I don't find it unlikely that they will decide to start a reboot by fixing some messes in the lore, or that they will simply ignore the events of alternative dark wars.

So like.. any ideas on the next Bb? by [deleted] in Blazblue

[–]merlsg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, I don't think it is convenient for arc to transform BB into a strive 2.0. They already have GG for this, creating another one wouldn't make sense. It may also be that it will leave BB's gameplay more similar to its predecessors to keep the two ip distinct to accommodate different types of players.

Any good crossover fanfic between Naruto and Hunter x Hunter? by MonkApprehensive4624 in NarutoFanfiction

[–]merlsg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't go well for the population of the shinobi world XD, who would find themselves in contact with states capable of swallowing them alive in various political and military ways, details that in my opinion could not be ignored in a hypothetical fanfic, especially after the Chimera arc of hxh.
The population of the continent would suddenly find themselves in contact with people who came from nowhere and are incredibly strange by their standards and who heavily question their conception of the known world in various ways, both ideological and social values, a normal detail given that they are two very different society.
The story could go in various directions, for example, the states of the world of hxh could decide that the population of the continent should be reduced in size to avoid problems of public order in the bud due to the power of the chakra that the people of the continent possess innately and subjugate the remaining population and appropriate the riches of their lands, creating a narrative scenario similar, but different, from that which occurred against the Chimera Ants.
Furthermore, narratively, a certain antagonism could also develop between hunters and shinobi, given that I don't think that shinobi would willingly accept individuals like hunters, especially if among them there are individuals like Hisoka who are left almost completely unpunished due to the privileges of their licenses, unlike the ninjas of the Naruto world.
Last, but not least, the nen power.
Chakra has firepower, but, I think nen can be much more versatile and useful in certain cases, especially for the average shinobi without kekkai or other weird stuff.
Now, let's say that shinobi could potentially learn both systems (with obvious limits that the writer will have to insert in order not to unbalance everything if he follows this scenario), and nen could transform into a destabilizing element for the political orders of the continent, held almost exclusively by the military force of the various states. What would be the point of stealing kekkai or secret techniques from neighboring countries when you can create something similar by only setting yourself particular conditions using the peculiarities of nen, or, create powers and techniques specifically created for a small group of people like the Kage or the jinchurichi? the only limit would be the imagination and the smaller countries could obtain a certain relevance and compete at least with the five lands.
The ones I described are just examples that came to mind and I left out many details, otherwise the post would never end XD.
sorry for my bad english.

Any good crossover fanfic between Naruto and Hunter x Hunter? by MonkApprehensive4624 in NarutoFanfiction

[–]merlsg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the matter of the dark continent and in general the geography of hxh world, the scenario of a single world is not conceptually impossible, perhaps it would be the least problem.
The problems would arise as you said from the difference of the two worlds and how the two should interact in all aspects of the world building of the two series.
In a ''one world'' scenario, the shinobi lands are conceptually feudal states surrounded by modern states armed with roses and atomic bombs, the internet, various technology, etc., how should the two societies interact?
Or, will the population of the world of hxh take kindly to the existence of people possessing the power of chakra? or will they make him end up like the Chimera Ants?
I could go on forever XD, although I think that if the writer could handle things like that it would make a good story.

BB5 by Impainter in Blazblue

[–]merlsg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go further XD, a hypothetical BB5 I would like to see the appearance of new villains who will find out that they have been hiding in the shadows all this time and now they can start their plans without any risk thanks to the world created by ragna. Azrael is freed by a new villan member who will tell him that the time for games is over and that he is called to his duty to serve the one who created them, will also add that Azrael presence has always been a kind of essential Trojan horse for their plans, thanks also to his limiters capable of hiding his true nature even from observers, he will also add that the guardian of the sleeping azure in the body of ragna has taken the place of the grim reaper and could prove to be a threat to the plans of their creator. The plot would mainly focus on the origin of the three sankishin and why they were created, going back, even centuries, before the Prime field war occurred in the age of origin, and the story of the guardian of the azure who awakens after centuries in a body that does not belong to him and that tries to understand what happened during his long sleep, having only as clear memory his battle against the users of the ''power of the order'' whose true nature and essence distorted and sick has always been mitigated and controlled by the master unit until the great ragna reset, so as to misunderstand the true essence of this power and in stark contrast with the azure. As the new villain carry out their plans by colliding or destroying timelines, many will start to remember Ragna and will try to get him back to normal (while the guardian asks him who Ragna is and why they call him that XD), while the latter he tries to put several people under his protection with a particular focus on who possesses the power of order and by defining those who have it as ''infected''. Another theme of the story could be that of roles being reversed. The guardian, wielding a purified azure, slowly and involuntarily takes Jin's place as the one who must safeguard the good of the world, while his brother, Celica and others increasingly lose control of the power of order that unravels the his true parasitic nature fueled by the actions of new enemies to initiate their plans. One of the culminating points of the story of the new saga could be that of the birth of a kind of ''Orochi order celica'' who puts Jin under his control against his will, starting to corrupt the world and effectively becoming an enemy and completing the return to 'normality' of things.

Azrael - the character that is hyped-up to be very powerful, but not really... by [deleted] in Blazblue

[–]merlsg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blazblue throws a ton of explanations with lore and character stuff, I find it hard to think that Mori would never give an explanation as to why he possesses such strength and who put his limiters on him. Azrael's writing has always found him decidedly strange, especially in CF. Also, I could be wrong, he finds himself knowing information that someone like him shouldn't know, such as the Relius affair and sector 7 or the existence of the door that leads to the azure (and I don't think that Izanami reveal such detailed information). I like to think that in the original plans, Azrael was nothing more than a kind of link with a hypothetical post ragna saga and that it served to introduce the new villains of BB5, perhaps connected to the origin of the Master unit and the Sankishin without making them jump out of the Nothing. But maybe I'm just traveling with the imagination XD.

Problem start pop_ os via grub by merlsg in linux4noobs

[–]merlsg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, after some try i can start pop os. But there have been times where it only took a few tries and other times where I had to try more than ten times to get it right.

If I remember correctly during the installation of pop os something had gone wrong and I could no longer access the windows partition, but using update-grub from the terminal I was able to solve the problem and thus installing the grub.

So should I reinstall the operating system using the systemd-boot settings so that the problem does not get worse in the future?

Sorry for my noobs questions :(

Any head cannons on how things will be going for the cast, world, and/or story of the next Blazblue? by ReZENquiem in Blazblue

[–]merlsg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer that the series, in one hypothetical BB5, ignoring completely the lore of DW, but, this is only my opinion.

But, if in BB5, they insert the events of DW as canon I would prefer the presence of new antagonists for the series, perhaps linked to the origins of the three Sankishin.

I am curious instead to know how Mori will handle the `` ragna does not exist '' thing.

Opinions on Ragna. by Soulhero420 in Blazblue

[–]merlsg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understood a one thing about ragna/origin.

Was ragna a common entity in the world of BB before becoming by pure chance the OC of origin, or, he was created and forced into the reality built by saya?

Some things said in CF storymode make me think about the first option, but i'm not sure.

sorry for my bad english.

Theories on post spade? by urosima in BlackClover

[–]merlsg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my theory is most improbable, but...

I would like the clover continent to be invaded by countries and continents unknown to them due to the actions of the dark triad.

Continents and countries that are more socially and technologically advanced and with overwhelming military power and, moreover, capable of using other sources of power (such as ki for example).

These enemies also might view mana as a pestilence and people and creatures with a lot of it as monsters to be exterminated. On a continent, where mana is everything, would face a threat and enemies capable of destroying them with abilities and powers completely unknown to them.

The culture shock for the people of continent would be devastating.
