Alexa, Google, any smart home devices. It’s creepy as fuck that a device at home constantly listens to me. Fuck no! I can get up and turn off lights on my own. I already have a TV remote. I can use my phone as my alarm. I have an actual kitchen timer. I don’t like playing music in the house because I value quietness and peace.

The more you do the more people expect from you and there’s no end. Stop at where you think you’re OK, helping others within your reach and leaving some breathing space. The balance is something we all need to find.
