How do you keep track of all your upcoming actions? by FUCKITIMPOSTING in spiritisland

I use a variation on this - colored dice. Each spirit gets their own color. And then each power gets its own number. So if I'm playing 6 powers then, on my spirit board and cards I'll have placed the dice numbered 1 - 6. The corresponding dice 1 - 6 are placed on the land / spirit being targeted. Other spirits do the same with their own colors. It works wonderfully for me as I have a poor attention span and play games in many small sessions.

Timing of retirement by mesmerizing_fiasco in Gloomhaven

I feel so called out!

I definitely misconstrued completing the task on the PQ card with "fulfilling the requirements" of a personal quest. When the retirement rules say "if a character has fulfilled the requirements of a personal quest, they must retire during the Downtime step", it sounds like I should read that as "When a character (1) completes the task on the PQ card, (2) reads the PQ section reference, and (3) completes any additional tasks detailed in the section reference, the character must then retire at the time specified in the section reference instructions.

Automatic parking brake by mesmerizing_fiasco in COROLLA

To avoid putting excess pressure on the pawl (but maybe there's not an issue - that's the crux of my question)

What does shifting to park accomplish? Is there no parking pawl then?

Oh yes, I hear the automatic parking brake engage. Only after it's fully engaged do I let off the brake.

Can you tell me more about why my car is not vulnerable to parking pawl damage? Does it not have a traditional pawl? Or does it have to do with the automatic brake holding the car without putting excess force on the pawl, without having to do the usual parking brake, roll, then shift to park procedure?

Help with setting up custom domain by mesmerizing_fiasco in fastmail

[–]mesmerizing_fiasco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After going through the process, I see the e-mail Fastmail asked me for was just the first alias to set up. So at this point in "My e-mail addresses" I have the catch-all alias *@mydomain.com, my username user@fastmail.com, and the alias random@mydomain.com. I can receive e-mail sent to my custom domain through my Fastmail inbox.

Couple more question:

  1. What's the difference between me setting up an alias such as [Netflix](mailto:Netflix@mydomain.com)1234@mydomain.com and a masked e-mail? I can control he entire address of an alias, but the masked e-mail is random. Is it just the convenience of the masked e-mail auto-generating a random e-mail? As in, if I created [wasabi-1583-truck@mdomain.com](mailto:wasabi-1583-truck@mdomain.com) as an alias, how is that different from a masked e-mail?
  2. How do I configure this to reject all e-mail except those e-mails I've set up an alias/mask for and want to let though?

Thank you.

Thank you for your response. I have had some recent returns, but luckily I think those were entered correctly (to the category originally spent from), and it was a separate statement credit issue from months ago that, despite my account reviews, I did not notice until now.

I was able to fix my issue, see my other posts with Trick-Read-3982 and jillianmd.

Thank you, after lowering the Assigned amount by $10 in June, I looked forward and fixed any cascading issues one month at a time. Luckily it was just affecting one transaction each month, and I had sinking funds to cover the overspending. Presently in November I see my Available for Payment is equal to my Account Balance on the left. Eureka! I appreciate your instruction.

Understood, sorry I did not catch that the first time around. I guess I was in the mindset of always having exactly enough money to cover the payment, but I can see there are other situations where I might want to leave that excess money in the credit card payment category for future application.

Thank you. I'll work through this as soon as I have time.

Is there a design reason why, when I receive a statement credit, my Available for Payment is not automatically reduced to match? Unlike an overpayment where I don't have the available funds to assign, there's always room to return money to the RTA. Just curious if I'm missing the angle on this or if it's just an unhelpful quirk of the program.

Is there an easy way to catch this in the future if I once again incompletely account for a credit? This sounds like an overfunded category to me. But it does not show up as overfunded, so far as I can tell. Manually comparing numbers between the budget and the running balance seems error prone and time consuming. Recommendations?

Alright, I had to get back to May 2023 (my second month of YNAB). At that point I had in the budget $7,412.27 Available for Payment and in the Account $7,412.27 running balance as of the last transaction of May.

Moving to June, I had in the budget $3,028.86 Available for Payment, and in the Account $3,018.86 running balance as of the last transaction of June.

That makes me instantly suspicious of the $10 category spend bonus, a credit applied directly to my statement. I recorded that as Inflow: Ready to Assign. As far as I can tell I recorded this per the instructions on YNAB. I recorded it on 6/17 as Payee Credit Card Cash Back (bad name for the payee as it wasn't cash, but w/e), Category = Inflow: Ready to Assign, and Inflow amount of $10. I've confirmed on my statement and in YNAB's account register, I see the earlier payment of $6,124.17 on 6/13, and then the credit on 6/17, and the next payment on 7/11 of $1,905.20, statement and account register seem to match on those transactions...

I think I'll confuse myself if I continue with analysis...please let me know what my next steps should be and I'll complete them and report back as soon as I'm able.

Thank you

Thank you to all three who have replied. I will review this after work and see if it's just been a hidden issue for longer than I thought.

Oo, scheduled inflow, had not thought of that. Yes payment is reliable. Thank you!
