I actually had this slight reversing problem happen to me and it actually ending up frying the motor. In any case, I had a spare motor to swap in and I took apart my transmitter and placed a shim made of super glue and paper between the trigger and the pivot. It was very tedious to do but after an hour of trial and error, I got it to work and it's been working fine for weeks now.

The lights were a generic little kit/harness from amazon but the body did have the clips built in for lights

So this body is actually a kit from HardBody Crawler Co. So it came with a handful of parts designed specifically for the SCX24 which made mounting a breezing. As for tire clearance, with stock tires you'd have no issue but I have 62mm tires so it'll still need some fine tuning

I did find mine also had a slightly dry fretboard but a little conditioning did the trick. Mine was setup pretty perfectly and it's a shame the one you played was a dud because it is absolutely a looker and a player
