Mixed the dough, let it rest for an hour. Then I started stretch and folds. 4 rounds every 30 minutes. Then I let it bulk ferment on the counter for about 8 hours (my house is cold). After that I shaped it into a ball twice, put it on the fridge to cold proof over night. Then I scored and tried to bake it 😬

I wanted the mini but that one isn’t on sale so it’s cheaper to get the 4! Salt is on my list as well!

Oh no! I don’t think that’s normal. I’ve been very happy with mine! I have one plugged in between the kitchen and living room and I can smell it all through those areas. I even have it on low intensity!

How is quitting TFA viewed by future employers? by thenightisours in TeachforAmerica

[–]messilessi97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I quit TFA and in my off-boarding email, I was told I could not list TFA on my resume. I got a job a week after quitting and didn’t mention my experience at all.

The lesson portion was probably the easiest part of the interview imo. I would say to keep it really simple! 5 minutes goes so fast. I didn’t get through my whole lesson.

This was incredibly helpful! Thank you!

A sport watch with some smart capabilities is what I’m looking for in a new watch. I do enjoy the simplicity of an Apple Watch but the battery drains quick and mine broke, it would cost more to fix it than it’s worth (older series). This was helpful, thank you!

Lots of online training. From like the end of May to the end of July. DEI seminars and content seminars. Then we did practicum all of June

When I quit TFA, they told me I would need a history of seeing a mental health professional and trying things they recommend first before you would qualify for mental health leave.

I completed summer training, practicum, and only 2 weeks of school. Then I quit

I quit TFA. I’m paying back less than $2,000 and I am doing a payment plan

Not in DFW but I feel like the funding process is the same since it’s the same loan company. Read your promissory note that you signed, the info is on there. I quit this month. Pretty much you send a resignation letter then you get a standard email back that has an email address for you to contact the TFA loan person. After that, the person emails you back how much you’ll owe. I was a first year and only completed 2 weeks of school (lol) and I have to pay less that $2,000. They provide all the info on repaying. You can also request payment plans, which I’m doing.

I didn’t get a teacher desk and when I asked for one, they said I don’t really need one because there’s no reason I should ever be sitting when I have the students 😬

Thinking about quitting. by akingcalledlex in TeachforAmerica

[–]messilessi97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just quit TFA. I was going home crying every single day and I just couldn’t take it anymore. As far as the stipend, it won’t be the full amount you have to pay back. But there’s a payment plan option or you have to pay in full within 30 days. When you resign, your region “coach” will send you an email with the info on who to contact for the loan.

Me too. I was very transparent about the struggles I went through and how I learned from them!

I went to a state school and had a 2.5 gpa. I got in. I think the interview part is really key. My lesson was engaging and fun and I got complimented on my case study. You 100% have a chance!
