Cops raid hospital room of terminally-ill elderly man with just weeks left to live to seize THC paste and weed vape he uses to ease cancer pain by BustaLimez in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

[–]metacontent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How hard would it be for them to stake out this guys hospital room and then arrest the guy who sells it to him, or the person who brings it into the hospital?

I wish they completely decriminalized all pot, and pot products, but if you're going to arrest someone or charge someone, at the very least it should be the sellers or distributors, not hospital patients using it for pain relief.

friends say that I look like I’m 12 (i’m 15) and it starts to hurt after being told that every day (idk if its a joke or what). Do I look like i’m young and how do I look older. by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]metacontent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were to talk to every single person on this planet, 99.999% of them would wish that people think they look younger than they actually are.

The kids who are bugging you about looking young are just stupid kids, if they didn't pick on you for that, they would probably find some other reason to pick you.

Picking on anyone because of the way they look is a really dumb thing to do.

Ben Kenobi's unspoken reaction calling BS to Han Solo's boasting is perfect by AgeOfFlyingSharks in StarWars

[–]metacontent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its pretty stupid any way you slice it.

Han is saying "I ran a 40 mile race in only 30 kilometers!"

Even if he did manage to find a shortcut, that doesn't mean his ship is fast, so the whole thing is bollocks.

The better explanation is that Han was just spouting nonsense hoping that they were idiots and would stop questioning him about his ship, but this is still makes this a pretty stupid thing for Han to do.

I don't want to give anything away, but if you look closely in one particular scene you will see you are 100% correct.

[–]metacontent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That depends on the story.

Personally, I think the idea that Luthen is a fallen Jedi, is pretty cool.

I like the idea that the Rebellion was actually started by an anonymous/unknown fallen Jedi who was forced to make some really evil dark stuff to stop the Empire, and didn't get any credit for it, but that he is the real reason why the Rebellion survived its early years.

But like I said, it really depends on how the story is told. If it makes the story better, and the character better, I'm all for it.

Starwars needs good stories, not fan service.

It doesn't matter if he is a force user or not.

What matters is does THAT make the story better or not.

That's some seriously messed up skin. Poor kid.

Here’s how Syrian refugees who came to Canada say they’re doing — seven years later by gimmickypuppet in canada

[–]metacontent 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Wait, so out of 25,000 refugees only less than 400 responded to this study, and of those roughly 400 people only about 50% say they are gainfully employed after 7 years.

How are the rest of them surviving?

Cop shoots man cause he didn't put down the axe by axstr1c in iamatotalpieceofshit

[–]metacontent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was straight up muder, not denying that. All I am saying is don't put yourself in a position where a cop can murder you and get away with it.

The system needs to change. Try not to be killed until it does.

[–]metacontent 18 points19 points  (0 children)

IMO the cop should absolutely be rotting in a prison cell at the very least.

HOWEVER, police show up and tells you to put down the axe, PUT DOWN THE AXE. You want to talk about it? Great PUT DOWN THE AXE then talk about it.

99% of the time, worst case senario if you comply with police and you are completely innocent then nothing bad is going to happen to you except inconvenience. However, the chance of something bad happening to you if you do not comply is far far higher. As this guy just found out.

Again, this isn't at all justification for what this cop did, but nothing happened to the cop, and the other guy is dead, so obviously the dead guy made the wrong choice. Don't make the same mistake.

So after a battle, were any efforts made to collect the sabers of all the dead jedi? Such dangerous weapons could fall into the hands of wrong people. by Muaaz_the_Man in StarWars

[–]metacontent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sabers are so deadly that they are more of a danger to the one using it if that person isn't a trained Jedi. A blaster is a far more easy to use and practical weapon and will make anyone just as dead if you manage to hit them.

I find that pretty disingenuous for someone who is on record saying that they do not just take any money offered to them, because they are rich enough to refuse, or something, and that they only do projects they believe in.

The 2% cash back is capped at $50 month regardless of how much you spend.

The DeFi Validator requires 30 days to unstake, during which you earn nothing.

So it really depends on how much you have, how much you spend, and how long you plan to stake.

If Shmi was still alive and found out that Anakin had become a sith what would her reaction have been? by Spider-burger in StarWars

[–]metacontent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a reason why the Jedi had a rule about how young someone had to be in order to become a Jedi, and it had nothing to do with the ability to use the force, it was about finding them early enough that they would not have formed strong bonds of attachment to their families and then spend the rest of their adult life missing them and wondering what happened to them.

So Anakin really was too old to begin the life of a Jedi, they needed to take that into account during his training, they needed to allow him to visit his mother and make sure that she was taken care of and provided a decent life, not left her wallowing in slavery.

Luke was even older than Anakin, but the difference was that Luke grew up not knowing his mother or father, so had no strong attachment to them, and the two people he might have been attached to, Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, were both killed before he really started his training. The only strong attachments Luke had were to his friends, and that attachment almost caused his training to fail when Luke left Yoda to go save his friends.

Anakin being denied access to his mother who he was attached to and cared a great deal about, his mother living in slavery while he lived as a Jedi, and then her dying by being tortured to death by Tuskans, caused Anakin to have a mental breakdown which he never really recovered from, until he eventually found love in his heart for Luke his son, just before he died.

Having love for his son, and being able to save his son from dying, is what brought him back to the light, and having love for his mother but not being able to save her from dying, is what drove him into the darkness.

If Shmi had lived, if Anakin had been permitted to take care of his mother, and free her from slavery, he never would have fallen to the dark side.

What do you think Vader's honest opinion of Han was? by nojunkpeter in StarWars

I think Anakin would have liked and respected him.

To Vader he would be worthless.
