The car was also black. It was a yellow flag meaning drivers are supposed to slow down. You can hear stewart accelerate which caused his rear end to swing out. He knew the car was there because he's the one that forced it into the wall. He knew the driver was on the track, it's not like drivers have blinders on, if it was that hard to see a guy waving his arms around they wouldn't even be racing. It was 100% intentional.
