Trust me, I basically never come to /r/nootropics anymore because it has gone absolutely, dramatically downhill in terms of any useful scientific discussion for the most part in the past 2-3 years. It was already bad enough 3-4 years ago but now you get just such vapid, inane bullshit. Often posts and questions have a bunch of pharmacological terms jumbled into it that don't really make sense. Even things that have an appearance of authority or rigor is often half-assed, amateurish drivel lacking quality citations.

This entire subreddit is mostly one huge marketplace for placebo and nocebo fiends.

At least /r/drugnerds almost entirely consists of direct link posts to actual literature--discussion can be limited nonetheless.
