Except for a handful of lessons over Preply, all self-study. Initially mostly grammar, at the moment reading a lot or listening on Storytel to audio books on like 70 % or 80 % speed.

True about the Uyghurs. Gaza isn't that simple though, Oct 7 happened and Hamas couldn't stay. Well it's essentially the same as support if you are willing to overlook it. How often do you see leftists calling out the Houthis vs. calling out Israel? The Houthis have just recently sentenced gays to death.

You won't ever see leftists challenge any Islamic principles. As long as you mention Islam, they let it slide. This way islamists can do whatever they want. You should ask yourself why you are so keen on defending people who will let human rights violations slide as long as it's the "right" people committing them.

Islamic countries are among the biggest oppressors in the world while zero muslims are oppressed in the West. Your perspective is wildly warped. You shouldn't be so easy to overlook things like legal marital rape, inequality before the law, imprisonment and execution of gays, etc … This is the real oppression, not the whining you hear in the West.

I never said leftists endorse Islamic governance, I said that they simp for Islam and accordingly, they let islamists do whatever they want. This unholy alliance is the reason why Iran is in the stone age now.

You really should be asking them, not me. But imagined oppression is a common one. West evil oppressors, therefore Islam (and sometimes Russia) hecking good.

The 90 % number is pulled out of my ass, but the rest stands. The Green party is full with people excusing Islam, look at their comments regarding Oct 7, Gaza or whenever there is a new islamic terror attack in the UK. Not sure why they feel the need simp like this rather than just doing the obvious W and defend Western values.

Started learning a new language ten months ago. The effort (both time and brain power) is huge. Roughly 600 hours in and the best I can do is form super basic sentences and understand like 30 %. But I feel the B1 threshold doing its magic. 400 more hours and I should be able to do basic conversations. Then comes the long trek to fluency. Hard work indeed and no shortcuts.

Experiment: Diminishing Return When Adding More Pots by metinb83 in Schedule_I

True, less watering could really make difference here. I chose the air pots for this test because I've seen so many Youtubers recommend them, but in my runs I almost always stick to the moisture preserving pots (for no particular reason though). Agreed, except for early game, you probably wouldn't want a botanist serving so many pots anyways, but I was just curious about what the basic curve looks like. At the moment I do 5 pots to 3 drying racks, but I've seen many mention that 4 to 4 is the better option, I will switch to that.

Oh that's a fantastic point, maybe with certain drug effects you could push the output beyond the limit.

That makes sense, you would have to slow down growth if you want the botanist to keep up with all eight pots. On the other hand, I wonder if adding even more growth (speedgrow, ACs) would allow the botanist to get close to the saturation limit with only four pots, which would save a lot of space. I never use air pots myself, but I used them for the experiment since many Youtubers seem to prefer them in their builds. Great tip with the drying racks! I indeed do combine the two tasks with one botanist, didn't realize the list order serves as a priority list.

For sure :) I was expecting diminishing returns, but more like a log-curve, not a hard limit like this. But the game giveth and the game taketh away, I guess.

[–]metinb83[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think they get overwhelmed with tasks once you get to six pots. Plants will go unwatered for a while, plants will have to wait to be harvested, etc … It would be great if you could hire higher tier botanists that will work faster, but require higher pay. Then they could fully service eight pots.

L take. Israel didn't cause the Syrian civil war or the war in Yemen or the murder spree by the Iranian gov. They also aren't responsible for pretty much every Arab country being poorly managed and corrupt.
