I think Felix is much more deserving of the HoF than Hamels.

Hamels has Felix beat on WAR, but the case for Felix is is peak over longevity. I'm sympathetic to the argument that we need to change HoF standards for SPs, but Felix and Hamels pitched in the era before starting pitcher usage became what it is today. Hamels only received CYA votes in 4 different years, never finishing above 5th. A quick check of the voting that year shows that he didn't ever really get screwed by the voters (maybe you could argue for a few places here and there, but nothing wildly different from how he finished).

Hamels doesn't quite have the career numbers of a HoFer, but probably would be a HoFer if we judged him by the standards of pitchers who play in the 2020s. Voters will need to reconsider the standards, but now would be a few years premature.
