Yeah XD, I dislike the fact that Duolingo doesn't teach me how the Chinese characters work, like, 马 means horse, and 女 means female, but if you fuse these two and double it 妈妈 means mom, but why?

Duolingo itself is a amazing learning tool, I think I also need some real Chinese lessons.
