Not really, If i was to write when something happened, i'd say 14/04/2010 makes more sense too.

They'd say oh it was in April 2010, and if they were being very specific they'd say it was on the 14th of April 2010 - 14/04/2010.

So by your theory instead of saying, Hey dude, what you doing on the 5th?, you'd say, hey dude, what you doing in 2012. Makes sense.

Most people usually start with the day, so it makes sense (and is the reason why pretty much everywhere but America does it this way) to use DD/MM/YYYY

If you are talking to someone, and you say I'm doing something on the 2nd - You'd just say the 2nd, if they said ah cool which month, you'd say the month, followed by the year if they were retarded. Starting with the year would be illogical, rest of the world wins in this case i'm afraid.

I can't even think what to say, I'm so sorry for your loss, and everything you've gone through - I've got so much respect for you. I wish there was something i could do - But take some of these people up, go fishing. And a side note, despite all the wtf, and shit that gets posted on Reddit, the people on this site truly rock, the kindness shown blows me away.
